You could have 30 teams interested in him…it doesn’t matter. If he wants Miami and Miami wants him he’s going to Miami.
Yeah, if you're a b**** GM, that's exactly what will happen. He has NO POWER. The Texans have NOTHING BUT TIME. But if they don't operate in that way then you manufacture power for him. In the end, if Miami offers the best deal, then fine. If not, then kick rocks.
https://www.nfl.com/news/texans-wil...id-culley-s-future-as-deshaun-watson-trade-lo The target now is to trade Watson before the 2022 league year begins on March 16, maximizing the flexibility the Texans have in free agency and the draft. And some clarity on the serious legal matters Watson faces could be coming soon. The Houston prosecutor handling 10 criminal complaints filed against Watson is expected to make clear her stance on any potential charges sometime in the next several weeks and turn over the case to a grand jury, sources say. Depositions have also begun for the 22 women who accused Watson of sexual misconduct in civil court; Watson's deposition can take place no sooner than Feb. 22 and a pre-trial conference is set for May. Watson has denied wrongdoing. Watson has a no-trade clause and waived it this season only to his preferred destination, the Dolphins. In essence, he has veto power. However, the Panthers also showed renewed interest in a potential Watson trade before the deadline in November, and other teams figure to be interested as well, pending further information on the legal cases and possible league discipline. And at this point, sources say Watson is in no hurry to figure out his new NFL destination, since 2022 training camp is still over six months away.
The proverbial this is hopefully coming to a head article and how we can exfoliate this abcess from our team. Really some interesting dynamics that I'm sure the media will be lapping up in the coming months. Watson's civil and criminal cases have different paths, but a settlement needs only 18% more complainants to agree on a number to halt both processes. How far does Watson's team push the timeline before agreeing to a settlement or do they let it run its course? The latter seems unlikely given that we know 18 women have agreed to settle. Assuming a complete resolution is met before Mar 16th, then the chess match becomes how can Caserio pressure Watson to expand his "No-Trade Clause" teams? This is critical to maximizing our return, which has to be our #1 offseason goal. I hate drama in general, so I'm looking forward to the trade and hopefully the cache of assets we receive. I'm also looking forward to moving on from Watson on our team. Like many I had such great hope for him and our team. That 24-0 lead over the Chiefs was the pinnacle for DW's version of the Texans, it was ****ing awesome. However, that changed rapidly, as did Watson's long-term future with the team. After today's game, Caserio's 2nd season begins and hopefully we get more excitement this offseason than we had this season.
Carolina has a NICE defense. Pair that with Watson and a healthy McCaffrey and they are a contender. Now give us 3 first rounders and some beef for the lines and we have a deal.
I've ben saying since February that Carolina is the choice. Burns, Jaycee an Chinn plus the 1st rounders in 22,23,24 will do it for me. The defense is set and the Oline can be addressed with 3 and 6. Should the Giants feel friendly an give us 5 or 7 for our LT who doesn't want to be here Jameson Williams will be perfect. Just my take.
I believe the Philly trade got vetoed… and Carolina wasn’t even going to formally make an offer until the cases were completely settled. The Dolphins success over the second half of the season shouldn’t go unnoticed. The Dolphins may at least “think” they could win with Tua. At the very least, the Texans can leverage the Dolphins “belief” in Tua to either get what they want from Miami, or get other teams involved in the discussions.
Maybe… but what does it matter if Deshaun only wants to go there and Miami knows he only wants to go there?
Deshaun’s ego is so big that he will likely act like a bi*** and take it as a slap in the face if: A) they balk at Caserio’s asking price B) any one in the Dolphins’ front office voices support for Tua as their QB moving forward. I’d be willing to bet that he expands his “list”.
