It would have behooved Mr. Goodman to mention that the quote was in a draft letter of resignation that the senior DOJ official would use if Mr. Rosen was fired. Obviously resigning in protest burns some bridges while you're walking out the door. So no additional harm in characterizing the orders. But, I guess it does tell you something that 3 days before Jan 6 the deputies of the Attorney General thought his firing was a possibility, that they had meetings with Mr. Rosen about it, and that they were prepared to resign in protest over it.

What does that even mean?

If the Republicans party could clean up it's act, and stop trying to overthrow the Democratic process then yes I absolutely think this could be a unifying day in the future. Call it "Democracy Day" where we remember the true heroes of that day like Eugene Goodman, and I think even Mike Pence could be a very relevant figure in the our history books because of what he did that day (despite what he did before and after which could tarnish his legacy drastically).

The call for unity is important for sure, but that cannot be done while half of the country and their leadership are actively advocating for another January 6th but without the tailor trash crapping in Chuck Schumers office. You think I'm wrong, tell me how many Republicans yesterday condemned Peter Navarro's media tour advocating for Republicans using the 1876 playbook like they were attempting to do to overturn an election, and call it legal because the 12th amendment isn't clear enough.

You want unity... I do too, but that CANNOT happen while one half of the power in this country and their voters are actively promoting authoritarian tactics to stay in power without democratic elections. YOU are a proud Republican. PLEASE do your part to call on the officials you vote for to ask them to stop the party's promotion of these tactics.
