If im being honest I think its awesome that he even tries it and has had success with it (albeit very limited). He doesn't have the handle or strength yet to do it really well or consistently but the fact that he did it at all is cool. Right now he needs to just rely on his speed until he has the body to do that and it seems like he realizes that

Yeah he would get the ball more and get way easier buckets/free throws. Besides his effort, the most frustrating thing about wood are his weak picks

He'd not only get it as much, he'd get better looks and tons of easy buckets. Wood's just too stupid to realise that a slipped screen works as a tactic because you've set the groundwork with hard picks first. If all you do us slip then it's not actually a pick and roll and you lose the effectiveness of the slipscreen AND you completely ignore the big strength if a proper pick and roll (ie, the big man follows the guard so you now have an easy mismatch inside against a much smaller player.) Wood is such a low IQ player.

I have it second after him slowing down over half our fast breaks by dribbling up court instead of passing to somebody who doesn't move in slow motion with the ball in his hands (negating by far our biggest strength - speed)

Motion offenses really throw him off. He loses his man a lot by focusing too much on being a help defender. His on ball defense is actually good. Just getting better at situational awareness would drastically improve his defensive ability.

People say he needs to thicken up but his issues are more positioning and awareness than size. His athleticism can work wonders on defense too. He will get pin down blocks ala LBJ soon enough.

I agree, there's no reason he needs to bulk up prematurely at 19. Look at Kevin Durant.

The important thing for him is to get enough strength to prevent injury but maintain flexibility as well. Beyond that he just needs to keep learning and developing.

With the pace the league plays at now, 20ppg would be a disappointing mark for Green. That used to be a high average back in the 90s but a pure scorer should be in the mid-20s or more.

I frequent the D&D daily and I was never bothered by compadre Basso or Texx. If anything the left could use more people like them. I say that to say this, not until the Greenhaters showed up did I decide to use the "Ignore feature". It's just deliberately stupid to call a career on a 19 yr rookie after 18 games. It should be funny but they actually believe it.

On Green, I like that he's driving more and the refs are beginning to give him star treatment. Even in the bad game vs The Moreys, Green got to the line 6 times and got whatever he wanted. He could definitely use the Kyrie metrix backboard training like y'all have suggested.

Defensively, he has to grow into that defender. I like the effort like he didn't back down from being backed down by Travis Scott in the Heat game. He even forced 2 bad shots. 3/5 for T.Scott.

I saw it in 2012 when Harden arrived to now, league wide. Why are guards ball watching and trying to help on the post defender. If 3>2, just let Wood/Sengun/Theis get slammed on. Don't leave your guy to help. I guess it just natural instinct?

This draft from 1-18 has so many potential all stars.

Green is going to be a problem…the blow-by’s, the skywalker dunks, that jumper looking moist…keep up that development and start contributing more in other categories to be a more well-rounded player, and lead us into the future

I think it's becoming very clear that he has the star potential his haters claimed wasn't there. It's insane that people were genuinely trying to say KPJ was the better option and Green was the one we should trade.

Officiating has changed. Foul baiting has been massively lessened thats why lot sof these previous high ft attempters like Harden and Trae Young had a down year esp during the beginning of the year.

If you read the article it said Green could have already left his defender in the dust but would intentionally slow down so he can put his defender on his back. Maybe in the past it made sense to have a backup plan of baiting your defender if you cant get a good look but now it makes more sense to just go hard at the rim.

Gotta say, those people calling him a bust after 20 games are morons.

Tbh i got really scared since a guy is 2” shorter than they advertised and he couldnt get past anyone. The quickness we see now was absent for whatever reason. So in my perception we didnt get what we were told, undersized guard with above average athleticism. But….. after injury he looks as athletic as he was supposed to be. He looses everyone with 1 step and thank god for that whatever reason. I think its normal people were mad because we didnt see anything else

Kevin Durant has tons of weapons but body contact was not one of them for a long time.
