How do you keep the sale price at $1 with input costs rising? 1) lower quality ingredients 2) smaller portions
Oh wow, I never realized LC pizza was "famous".........ummmmm, if you really want to spend 5 bucks on a pizza, then you wont mind spending 6-7 bucks to get that famous taste. For me, if I frequent an establishment and like what they sell I will pay a little more during these times, nothing stays the same price forever..............Hell, I remember when McDonald's had their 2 big macs for $2 bucks many years ago.....now its 2 for $6 (when they have there 2 for deals), prices go up, life changes
It is. I freakin love Pizza Hut. The only famous city type pizza I've had in that city is New York. Pizza Hut isn't on that level but the ingredients they use are very good for chain restaurants. Little Cesar's is nowhere near but it's not bad bad when it's fresh out the oven
Cattle prices have only gone up about 10 percent but beef prices have doubled in some cases. Meat packers and distribution channels are milking this for all it's worth. Just like the electricity during the snow storm.

on the flip side, at Costco, a slice of pizza (which is almost twice the size of Little Caesar's) is still $1.99, a full pizza is still $9.99, a hot dog and drink combo is still $1.50 and a rotisserie chicken is still $4.99 . the prices of these popular items have not changed since the last century from this, as it relates to grocery items, an argument can be made that it could be company specific
Of course it's company specific. Costco has built in advantages other retailers don't (i.e. it can buy in bulk quantities in amounts other companies can't which in turn allows them to arrange lower prices from it's suppliers others can't). p.s. Also, even though the above prices haven't changed the cost of membership over the past quarter century certainly has.
Those prices have always lost money for Costco. They are just to get people in the door. Loss leaders.

Lap dances have always been a loss leader, they make it up by selling you other goods and services. Edit: What's really crazy is the price of college going up, but lap dances didn't. How are all these strippers paying for college ?
Actually, the food court is very profitable for Costco. One of the most profitable parts of the business.
