It's one of the dumbest Texans-related ideas I've ever heard. And there's a long list to choose from.

Lol did you watch the game? They played against the number 4 defense with their junior varsity offensive line. I have no idea if Mills is the answer but this isn’t the game that should be used to draw any conclusions.

I’ve paid almost zero attention to the Texans this year. But I keep hearing things that amount to “maybe Mills is it!?!?”

    like wtf?

Watson might not even be a top 5 QB right now.
    He had one elite season.

Just right now you take Rodgers, Brady, Herbert, Burrow, Mahomes, Allen and maybe Dak, Murray over him.

I have no idea either. Grabbing more qbs whether it's draft or signing to make the job competitive. I'm not down to hand mills the starting job outright he does not deserve it. He needs to earn it. I was hearing hype that he's the future/best rookie in the qb class and I see this type of performance and excuses.

Should I wait and watch when Mills play a sht team and does well to crown him our future starter?

Mills may not be the answer but outside of Jones he's been the best qb in this draft I'll run with mills till there's a luck manning type player available

If anyone is blaming this game solely on Mills, they didn’t watch the game or they have made up their mind already.
I suggest they go through the game logs for Watson and see how many stinkers he put up, with more talent.

Enter draft pick spot hooray ..actually what I learned is the combination of Tim Kelly and Culley is bad offensive coaching. One or both have to go . Mills while not at his best had some moments but also suffered from bad play calling, bad luck, costly And ill-timed penalties and another lack of overall roster talent

It’s funny you said that cause Rodgers, Herbert, Burrow, and Allen are all putting up nearly identical numbers to Watson last season. Watson had more yards, just as many tds, half as many ints, but according to you “he’s not that good.”

    Watson - 4,823 yards, 33 tds, 7 ints

    Rodgers- 3,689 yards, 33 tds, 4 ints
    Herbert- 4,394 yards, 33 tds, 14 ints
    Allen- 4,168 yards, 34 tds, 15 ints
    Mahomes - 4,569 yards, 35 tds, 13 ints

The only difference is Watson had no offensive line, no running game, no Hopkins, dead last defense and you still have the nerve to say he’s overrated.

I know you’re still salty about Watson quitting on the team that’s why you’ve been building this narrative against him, while at the same time hyping up Mills.

I’ve grown to hate Watson as a person as well but I can’t deny he’s a top five qb.

Right, he did that one season. There are new better young guns that are actually winning and the old heads that Watson will never be.

Go through his game logs for 17, 18, 19.
There are multiple clunkers. 20 was an elite season, that resulted in 4 wins.

Right now, Watson is pushing top 10 QB. Maybe. The game moves on while he’s on the side line

the problem with this is by the time you find a QB, the holes you filled will be holes again

so you need to find a QB first, then fill holes

This team wins 9-10 games with Watson. Why? The defense has played much better than expected and the offense has been the big problem…particularly, the QB play.

LZ is usually a lot more insightful than the posters here so I suppose Mills does indeed deserve a 2022 shot , if he falters and doesn’t show consistency and improvement than I will be the first asking for a QB in 2023…

if you separate and discard the first half and examine the second half of the season you can arguably make a case that Mills has shown the consistency and production to perhaps be the best performing rookie among all the first round rookie QBs selected.

Mills needs to improve. He had a decent first half. Had a great TD pass, but regardless of play calling or penalties, he could have done better indeed. It’s so tough to find that Luck, Manning, Or even Watson …That is why teams will overpay for a unproven Trevor Lawrence if possible. You just don’t find elite QBs often and even when you find one such as Trevor, they don’t show results. If Mills can just be very good, that’s ahead of the game. Build around him and let’s see
