None of this changes the fact that Karla "The Failman" Malone is going to retire his fat ass without a world or NBA championship!
This is a completely personal issue .. If you feel the Pistons are just NBA Champions then call them that. For me .. I'll think of them as the "NBA World Champions" because the best players in the world strive to play in this league. If that wasn't the case, Yao Ming would not be here today. The same goes for NHL, MLB, and NFL. Now when someone wins the MLS league I will gladly think of them as the "MLS Champion" only for obvious reasons. However I dont think there is a need to get your panties in a bunch when a team that wins the championship in one of these premier leagues is called World Champions.
Do they still have that tournament where all the world's league champions compete? Not the Olympic qualifier thing. The NBA sent their champions, not a team of all-stars. The Rockets did a tournament in London and the Bulls went to one in Paris.
