Regardless KPJ is not a good influence, Green was tight with him so it seemed.

At least Green understands that if he is scoring his value is trending upwards.

I would feel much better about Green learning how to be a pro if we had a veteran PG teaching him how to play the game. I don't mean John Wall either I mean one who knows how to win.

The winning will come once you establish that defensive identity.

It almost happened during the MDA era but it was inconsistent even then.

Building a good Front Office and coaching staff is also very tough.

Thinking this is 100% truth at this point. A shame.

It is too bad that is funny.

Wood has every reason to bugger off, instead chose to sulk next to his teammates.

    Fine heem.

He needed to do something after this game. He surely didn't want to watch the film. Christopher, like everyone else, was terrible in this game.

I looked back at the 47-point quarter, and someone else will have to let me know if the Rockets attempted to play a zone or not. There was too much standing around for me to tell for sure, though it did look like Wood and Christopher simply didn't want to play zone (or haven't paid attention when they've walked through the rotations).

For the game, JC gave up 9-12 shots in which he was the primary defender and missed numerous rotations. Not exactly what you expect out of a guy who wants the reputation of being a defensive stopper. He knows what to do when he's on the ball, but otherwise, it's more miss than hit.

Of course, I don't understand the coaches either. This group of players obviously doesn't know what to do in a zone. If your team isn't ready, a coach shouldn't try and run things in a game. I guess it is sort of embarrassing to call a defense and have your players look at you and then stand around. When we do that on offense it's called "spacing" the floor. But on defense, that's layups, uncontested 3s, and offensive boards (even when a team is shooting 73% for the quarter). But I guess that's where these guys are at this point.

The question I'd have for the coaches is why not hedge on a PnR every once in a while? A guard like Denver's Campazzo (who is 5'10) would struggle to make passes out of an aggressive double-team. If another Rocket's defender will completely sell out, tag, and take away the roll man, Campazzo would be forced to make a long pass with a lot of arch. While the ball is in the air, the defense has plenty of time to rotate and recover. There is plenty of film out there of people doing it well.
