So, you contend his D was good tonight? OK - we differ in opinion. I think he can get a lot better on D. PS. please point me to a post where you criticized Green....and I will stand corrected. DD
Missed the game because of new years (started at midnight for me) anybody give me a summary? Why did Sengun play so little?
They are not cancerous - FFS - they are just not disciplined, the entire team is undisciplined....because they are young, and because for whatever reason, Silas doesn't hold anyone accountable for anything. DD
I think with this comment, we can conclude you are actually just trolling, or at least you have serious issues reading and forming a coherent argument. Nowhere did I say his D was good, I have clearly stated that foul trouble is not indication of bad defense (especially when only 2 of his 4 fouls were offensive fouls). I thought his defense was average and could be better. Butler was clearly targeting him since he doesn't have the strength and size yet, but his lateral movement was solid in stopping drives. I literally criticized Green in my last post, by forming an argument regarding his foul troubles that you somehow are not able to formulate even though it's literally written for you. He clearly was overzealous in his drives, hence why he had to sit because he got baited into 2 offensive fouls. He should go for floaters or stop for a pull up instead. Were you watching the Bulls game instead and got the teams mixed up?
It's DD, what's sad is he isn't even trolling ... he is just misinformed as usual. The guy clearly doesn't watch and/or understands basketball lol.
Of course he can be better. He is a 19 yr old rookie for crying out loud. He played well defensively today
Hope the NBA game changes in the next few years... Because efficiency and high bball IQ are not this team's strengths for the foreseable future unless some big time FA comes... Pipe dream!
Kpj is a off the bench guy. I can see him becoming a very solid 6th man but he is showing himself to be a starting pg. Hope I am wrong
But not nearly as many games or minutes which is way more important. They literally blame him for everything like they blame Silas. They think somehow him being the point guard is going to make Jalen Green a worse player in the end. My point is that it takes time. Go look at most rookies and you'll see they had awful TS% their first years in the league. And most rookies are swtiched to point guard either. Lets just give it more time. Just like everyone was willing to write off Silas, people shoulndt be willing to write off KPJ as a point guard.
Wood is not young he's in his mid twenties. Call it what you want, these aren't the guys I want around for a rebuild.
I clearly have a different viewpoint than many - that is for sure. Mine is based upon my life's experience in playing and coaching the game - everyone else's is based upon theirs.....one thing I have found is that when teaching the game there are very very few that see the game as it is developing, and even fewer who are smart enough to move off the ball and help the team by constantly moving. Some people are just quicker thinkers than others - and I think the same is true here, everyone sees the game through the way they played it, or like to see it played. Doesn't make you right or wrong, just makes for interesting conversation - and people get all butt hurt if you criticize their favorite player - like it will harm them to say something that they need to work on, less they be labeled a hater. Meh, be original, think for yourself, move off the ball, recognize plays before they develop - enjoy the game your own way...... Happy New Year - Rox fans! DD
Ok, FFS then. (It is not Silas, I think Stone and Co. did not give him a clear cut plan other than developing the youngsters.) What should he do? Discipline players that are on showcase to get traded one day in exchange for a couple of more wins that are useless in the grand scheme?
Teach, when they make a mistake, or are consistently making it, pull them out - tell them what they did, and put them back in...if they continue yank em for the rest of the game. Accountability. But I do get your point that you believe we are showcasing and numbers matter - there is truth in that it seems as well. Bummer for you then. Most of my balling took place before the cell phone.....but it was fun, and I played with and against many ex Rockets.....and one famous preacher at Lakewood church. DD
