This kid has a bright future, just needs to work on his driving game and polish his 3. Time/experience will do the rest.
Josh had a good game against the Pistons until the end of the game where I thought he and the Rockets lost their minds trying to bring the ball up the court. He plays great and within himself for a while, but all of a sudden seems to just push things too far, try to take over, or go brain-dead. I think (hope) it's because of youth and trying to make a good impression because he's doing it a lot less now than at the beginning of the season. Early in the season, I thought he needed to be drug-tested. lol. If he can settle down for an entire game and play solid D, he'll be alright.
He's going to end up starting with Green, probably a better fit than KPJ. Sengun KJ (in the future Garuba) Tate Green Christopher 6th man: KPJ Would be a sick lineup to develop slowly. Maybe keep Wood at the 4 for now.
I want to see how KPJ plays the rest of the season (assuming his leg hasn't fallen off). His regression from last season to this season is silly. I'm wondering if it's because of more responsibility being thrust on him, inability to grasp the offense and think of the fly, or injuries, or ...? He went from playing like a lottery pick to having every shot attempt he took basically be a lottery. Right now, I'd almost rather Josh be in there.... and that's saying a lot.
kpj has still had a few gems this year . He’s shown good progress on D . I think playing with green and theis and wood (Tate too ) was just a bad lineup for him and didn’t gel well . kpj playing with Tate and sengun and Christopher and green (depending on his growth) is something I wanna see .
I think he just needs to lead a team and he's not ready to lead a first team, so let him sharpen his game as a 6th man. Not everyone can think like both a scorer and a passer, maybe he needs time but I don't accept be can't play in the backcourt with another playmaker, he's not good enough to demand that yet. I'm not giving up on him, just patient.
One thing that’s stayed consistent with him has been his finishing at the rim. I don’t have the numbers but I feel like he never misses when he gets penetration.
He finishes a lot with his left hand. Seems like he prefers going to his left. I can’t believe how good he’s getting and how much he has improved in such a short period of time. Must be working his tail off. And he just turned 20 this month. So much promise. Rare combination of grittiness and actual talent.
stocky build that lets him absorb contact thru finishes. He has a ton of muscle that needs to be converted to fast twitch with plyometric training. He's a little slow to me.
I trust JC. He's game is built for the NBA. Already strong enough and headstrong to matchup defensively against anybody. Frankly I see him as a better backcourt partner for Jalen than KPJ. More than that, he is neck and neck as the club's most impactful rookie w/ alpy. He may not yet be ready to be an NBA point guard, but i dont doubt that he will be very close in season 2. I see a lot of EG in him, but a much more gifted passer.
He actually kinda remind me of Lowry. He is very strong and can finish with contact. His shot has always looked good form wise, just needs to get the consistency down. I feel like he has improved just as much as Green if not more. He was so damn bad when he first started playing. Now he's a much more in control for more possessions instead of just chucking
Scoot, Jalen, Josh, Armoni, Matthews = bright future for perimeter play. JC's shot has become consistent and dependable and very active on defense. Great progress from him.
