Happy for Ward. Hope he has a long NFL career. I think he was underrated at Houston. Feels like the Tom Herman show overshadowed how great Ward was and how much he was responsible for Herman’s success.
Greg Ward is the man. Never understood how some fans couldn't recognize him as an all-time great Cougar. Bad case of Keenum-brain, I guess. Fun Bowl win today!
Just quickly looking at the records and finishes, this was probably the fourth or fifth best season in the last thirty years. Also, there’s never been consecutive seasons with 10+ wins. That would be a good goal for next season.
Greg is a legend I remember John O'Korn was out there tweeting some dumb **** after the michigan buzzer beater but Greg Ward checked him good lol. No better competitor than Greg
So we started the year with 5 qbs and ended with 3. Tune and Ogbogu are both juniors. The other kid is a CC sophomore transfer. So either we get a big time QB commit next year or we go to the portal.
My guess is the portal when the time comes. Dana seems very married to Tune so unless a QB is willing to sit they aren't gonna see much playing time.
Massoud and Kopp weren't really "highly rated". It's kinda dumb IMO because the slate is 100% clean after next year. Massoud would've got the job if he had just put in one more year on the bench.
If Tune could just settle his feet, and step into throws, rather than bouncing around, he could be another Ryan Tannehill. He looks like a professional quarterback out there, but he's so inaccurate when he gets jumpy. I don't think the Cougars can replicate 12-2 myself. We backed our ass into that record in spite of ourselves. Improved. Yes. But not 12-2 improved if you ask me. All that said, we'll still be playing the doinks in our conference so we should get a bowl.
Yeah, I agree. The schedule was one of the easiest ever, but several teams gave UH a tough game. I don't see 12-2 in the immediate future. Winning would be nice though. They should be better next year.
This schedule was pillow soft, but you know what? So is next year. UTSA TTU Kansas Rice Navy Tulsa Tulane ECU SMU USF Temple Memphis 12 wins is definitely on the table there. Double digits for certain.
In the past the cross division games you play 2 yrs then skip 2yrs. I assume its something similar to that because we are skipping UCF and UCinn back to back years. We did play them in 19-20.
