Hopefully it doesn't spread to the whole team, it'd really suck if all our youngsters went down. It's been bad enough waiting to see KPJ and Green come back from injury, it'd really suck if Green and the others go out with covid now.

Literally any combination of the rest can get put in protocols as far as I’m concerned as long as we have enough to play.

League rules do not permit them to sign player development assistant Gerald Green because he is already on their staff, though he can come out of retirement with any other team.

If Lamb were healthy, he likely would not have been available to the Rockets, anyway, with four teams reaching out about signing him, a person with knowledge of the situation said.

That could point to the Rockets’ options. If players signed to hardship 10-day contracts among the initial wave of replacement players become available, the Rockets could sign them immediately, rather than wait for the customary waiver period. Many of those players were considered the top prospects out of the G League, with their fill-in duties giving NBA teams a chance to scout them in NBA games. But with the vast numbers of players out, relatively few became available since the positive cases hit the Rockets’ roster.

Good news is that you can't have star players missing games with COVID if you don't have any star players...

On a serious note, the Rockets are paying John Wall $41M to sit out this year so that they don't make a $100M mistake on KPJ's extension. Getting him enough minutes with the current squad, especially with Sengun and Green, is a lot more important than almost anything else this year. The current injury has already knocked out about 20% of the season for him; COVID restrictions on any of the young guys going forward will make that period even shorter. Guys who catch COVID will be probably missing 4-6 games, maybe even more as they ramp up after recovery.

Not much you can do. In some ways, it is a relief that the actual results don't matter right now with the Rockets. I'm sure I would be losing my mind if they had Harden and were trying to catch up to GS/Phoenix right now, where every game matters, and a bad outbreak could lose you HCA.
