Spoiler So… after thinking a bit.. why couldn’t Peter just ask Dr. strange for a spell to erase Mysterio from everyone’s memories. Boom problem solved. Lol
Part of the reason I don’t like the MCU is the shitty plot devices aka spidey’s suit and everything else “oh gues what stark gave us this fabricator which can basically make anything!” don’t recall spidery being Ironmans b****
Makes too much sense; however, Peter always had a self-blaming mentality for all the suffering in his life.
I really enjoyed the movie and 100% agree with your take about the premise and Peter's naivety. The movie was still good despite those faults due primarily to the very likeable cast and a plethora of fun scenes. Aside from the premise, the part that really pushed my suspension of disbelief was... Spoiler "Peter taking all the supervillians (unrestrained) to the condo with his aunt there. That was beyond naivety and simply idiotic." As for the question/discussion of people remembering Peter. Spoiler "I think all of Peter's records are gone. Which is why we see a GED math book in the box, when Peter moves into his new apt at the end."
Spoiler Why would Peter need a GED book? I get why he wants the degree, but he is MIT material, he doesn't need to study. I guess it's just to let us know that even his record of attending high school is erased, but still.
yeah that occurred to me right away also. But I figured they wanted a really OBVIOUS clue to let us know.
Spoiler midget peter was totally out-petered by amazing peter. he pretty much stole all the scenes he's in. like he was auditioning for an amazing spidey 3
Which one is the midget? I thought Garfield was auditioning to play Chandler Bing in a Friends reboot.
Great movie. Pacing was excellent. Didn't remember the past but it was still a great touch. Would watch again. Spoiler Yeah could've done it one by one... Or maybe use that insanely overpowered magic dungeon and bring that Stark tanning bed over to it? That was like the only thing they needed from their hideout. I hope he matures enough to leave out the "gee whiz, oh wow!" personality, now that he has to grow up. He was kind of Morty to Ironman' Rick, so moving beyond that will raise the stakes and up his character. Or maybe fans are alright with Spiderman doing light hearted hs/college movies that don't take itself that seriously. I'm okay with that direction. You don't need to force Spiderman into something it isn't. Symbiote goo will put hair on his chest quickly now that MJ out of the picture. I guess he needs a new suit because he can't log back into the old one. Forgot Password: Email not found.
Am I right that after Spidey and Hawkeye there is no marvel content coming out until the Dr Strange movie in May?? Wow if that’s the case there must have been some real production issues. With this next phase they are building they seem to have been overly ambitious to say the least. They are going to have to drop many plot threads teased just because actors are going to get too old or move onto other projects.
I think they are calling an audible midway through phase 4 due to how unpopular just about everything outside of Spider-Man has been thus far in phase 4. That means a ton of rewrites and reshooting. They can't keep having movies and TV shows "flop" by MCU standards and carry on in the same direction.
Holy crap, that was fun! I'm amazed at how well the MCU crew has done in pulling off all these movies. I'm blown away that they were able to include that many characters in one Spidey movie and have it work.
It's because all of the key characters come pre developed in other movies, and they just assume you've seen them. It truly is a remarkable formula they have. Almost all of their true solo movies are pretty meh, entertaining but nothing special. But once they cut lose and have the big crossover movies it's peak entertainment. No need to waste any time establishing, just jump right into s**t happening.
I would agree that Eternals, What If, and Falcon/Winter Soldier were boring at times, but Shang Chi, Wandavision, Loki, and Hawkeye got solid reviews.
Really enjoyed it, glad I read nothing going in…. Insert Spider-Man meme. Probably my second favorite spider man movie, Into The Spiderverse is my favorite.
Widow wasn't terrible. It just wasn't impactful or fan servicey. I thought they would've at least explained how she met Clint and joined SHIELD. The plot was Disney+ material.
Spidey wants a new Uncle Ben / father figure in his life. Doc Ock and Marisa Tomei hooking up - who says no?
Never really liked the live action Spiderman movies, but I thought they were decent or solid at best. This was by far the best live action Spiderman movie I've sat through. I think Spiderman Into the Spiderverse is the best one overall and actually made me interested in the hero outside of the comics in film, but this one is a solid second. Had some weird parts, like the apartment decision with the villians but overall it was excellent.
