I never said he wanted out, I’m speaking from a fans prospective when I say don’t let him suffer here, Eric should be balling on a contender instead of wasting it here and taking younger guys minutes. I’m fine with him mentoring and showing the young guys the ropes for now, but he just turned 33 today, so his window as a player may be closing soon. Now if he loves the city that’s fine, the city loves him back but Houston isn’t going anyway while his basketball career can go at anytime. He can always come back to the city like most former Houston athletes do after they retire and want to settle down. Again if he doesn’t care about winning as much and is more about financial stability that’s fine and understandable but it still makes no sense for the Rockets to keep him beyond this season or even the trade deadline.
I also agree that Eric Gordon wants to leave the Rockets a fortune of picks or good players when the time comes.
@hakeem94 Here is a gif of Godzilla headed your way. https://imgflip.com/i/5xsogv Eric Gordon is: 90.8 in "Spot Ups" 78.1 in "Transition" 78.4 in "Hand-offs" and was 90+ in "Ball Handler in PnR"
John Wall is the one who cares about money more than game. Gordon balling out, not demanding trades and not complaining...easiest explanation is that he's just happy being here. He's not a fan, he's a man with a ****ing great job right now. "Suffering" lol...
Gordon is a great example for the young players on the team. Wall does more harm than good being around.
Nuh. Plays the same position as Green. Helps spacing. But Green needs to improve his defence & defend bigger wings for them to play together
Happy birthday, Eric. You are an inspiration for our young players, but you have done enough. I hope we can find a contending team we can send you to, so you can get a shot at a championship. Far better we do that than to keep you on a developing team years away from contention. Now age 33, you deserve the opportunity during these last years of your career, while you are still producing at a high level. You have earned your fun. We should see that you get it contending for a ring.
Really? Have you watched the last couple games? I'd much rather have Gordon who is consistent on both ends of the floor for them to learn from than DJ "I can't inbound the ball" Augustin every day of the week.
He's done a lot for us and, like Harden, did enough to deserve a title but CP3 folded like an overused samsung galaxy. 2017-2018 team minus Paul should have an honorable mention in the rafters. Best rockets team to not win a title, and a better team than many many many many NBA champions. Look at the warriors now. I told everyone they will dominate again because they have historically unique chemistry and attributes, time will continue to tell we were playing the most talented team of all time. 73 wins plus KD lol, the two current MVP favorites. I hope we trade Gordon to the Nets and they meet the warriors in the finals though. Like a semi-rockets rerun haha
Regardless bruh it makes no sense to keep him for the future. And what are you talking about “He’s not a fan” I said that I’m speaking from a fans perspective lol also just because he hasn’t demanded or been vocal about wanting to be traded that doesn’t mean that he eventually wouldn’t want to or hasn’t thought about it. At the moment there’s no reason for him to demand a trade because the assumption is that he’ll be traded at least by the All-Stat break or sometime in the off-season
Yes I have. This is currently a 10 win team. We need to trade for more assets. Gordon is the best trade chip. Trying to win meaningless regular season games with older players is just stupid
What exactly does that have to do with your statement that Augustin is a good vet example for our youngsters? Care to address that point? Otherwise it's a bit pointless quoting somebody if you're going to completely change the point you're making rather than addressing it.
Also think rooks need a vet whose game they will respect. Be it EG or someone else, but kids gotta learn from those who will give them buckets or defend them during practices, but can translate that level of success in real nba games. That is often overlooked because of calls for more minutes. The more the season progresses, the more i appreciate the short term and possibly long term benefits of having EG DJ and the few vets on the team. Behind the curtains, the work ethic, hours in the gym and dedication of these pro athletes to have successful and long careers are remarkable in itself.
lol which games are meaningless and which are meaningful? according to you 25 teams should be tanking every year....lololol there wouldnt even be NBA at all
