this is when tanking becomes poisonous... whenever things go wrong ppl just say forget it lets just tank we should be tanking anyway....without even trying to resolve the issues or find out whats wrong

Yes, Augustin didn’t offer the team much leadership as a PG in that game, especially against that late zone.

 

Ignore him. The guy is missing some motherly hug in life.

Here’s an example of Wood flat-out deciding against taking advantage of Green’s speed.

 

Yeah idk what's w that guy. Like I want to like him but it seems to me like he really is just all about his numbers which ironically makes his numbers worse. If he would stop trying to be KD and set good picks, finish at the rim and take the open 3s his numbers would look better and the team would function much better. Also to your point he needs to just make the easy read for points. His attitude towards the game is my biggest gripe about him.

Edit: I also think it is detrimental to the young guys. Especially Green. It's not a shock that he looked better playing w the bench unit. Great post btw

 

It is pretty simple what is wrong in your words, but people know the feeling from the Morey era.

 

Wood does this A LOT.

It’s been one of my major gripes with him and I’m glad people are picking up on it and posting clips now.

He also does this when he gets defensive rebounds. Green or kj will be streaking and instead of throwing it ahead he’ll hold the ball and bring it up himself.

I think Wood is too determined to prove he’s the man and can do all these different things on the court that he neglects to make simple plays and do obvious things.

Setting good screens, making simple outlet passes is not eye popping enough I guess.

He needs to fully hand the reigns to the guards/playmakers in the team or he needs to be moved to somewhere like Golden State where he’ll have no choice but to fall in line.

 

So the coaching staff let him do all this?

 

If Wood didnt ever improve anymore talentwise, i would offer him 20 mil a year AS LONG as he improved as a teammate and a leader.

Like him but I dont know if that will happen. Deal him, reap the assets and ensure we have a chance at Holmgren/Smith/Banchero to plug into the front court.

 

Prime Boozer (2006-10) had 20 points 11 rebounds a game.

That rebounds helped.

 

Having watched most of his games in Utah, I can tell you Booze = Wood.
+ Booze was always s*** in the playoffs too.

 

What's wrong is that we don't have the talent. Talking about that is not fixing it.
