Why would you want for Eric to continue to suffer playing with a rebuilding team. Dudes not getting any younger plus he’s taking minutes away from younger guys. Let that man play on at least a playoff squad if not a true contender. Dudes been balling and that’s good, we should get something for him

Hasn't this been Stone's M.O., as opposed to Morey's? Sending players to contending teams, to buy good will with future players and agents? Or is that a gloss on his record?

I like EG, his combination of tough defense and clutch scoring have been key to some of our best performances. He deserves a shot with a contender like PJ got last year. If we could find something similar for Eric, I believe both sides win.

Hmmm, questionable as he held out on PJ for way too long and PJ was gettting mad.

I think he is playing maybe as well as he ever has for us right now, and this team would be pretty horrible without him, but if they can get a decent return he needs to be moved. He can be a real difference maker for a good team.

Yeah, maybe I give Stone too much credit for that one, since the eventual deal (and PJ being a stud) got PJ a ring.

Yeah, it does not change the fact that PJ seems to take jabs at the franchise (Free John Wall)

He was reallly unhappy in the last months.

    Despite winning that ship.

Liked the post and the premise of it. He’s actually a good guy to have around these younger guys in terms of watching and learning from. I just can’t justify keeping him though if somebody throws a 1st round pick our way. If you can’t get a 1st or an intriguing young player keep him. No point in trading him for 2nd rounders imo. Gordon can actually be a piece to push a team over the top. He’s a proven positive contributor in the playoffs offensively and defensively and should be valued as such on the trade market.

Suffering seems like an odd choice of words. He's a made man. He's respected. He's getting as many shots as he wants. The worst thing is that he's got to help groom a team of very talented young players for a couple years? And get paid like 60 million to do it? In a city that loves him?

His situation here does not suck. Like, at all.

Or ...and hear me out... he's a professional basketball player who has less of the knee-jerk emotional reaction to everything than do some fans.

Yeah. I mean if the offer comes it comes. But you start expecting things like a first round pick, a decent player in return and salaries that match (maybe even one that gives you cap space sooner than later?) and that's who? What contender is willing to split with their own young studs? More 1sts? Do we need more?

It's pretty clear to me that getting Harden, Oladipo and PJ out of town were entirely easier gigs. This isn't a Booger or Danuel situation to just cut a couple million. You can't JUST TRADE some guys. You can stand far enough back, out of focus to say OH YEAH JUST TRADE him for a first or a young player and pretend like you really done did it. But examine that a little and it falls apart.

I would trade Eric Gordon for 2 picks and whoever NBA contract that's expiring. I don't care if that gets him to the worst team in the NBA.
