House panel asks Supreme Court to say by mid-January whether it's taking Trump's January 6 records case

Washington(CNN)Former President Donald Trump appealed to the Supreme Court on Thursday to block the release of documents from his White House to the House committee investigating the January 6 riot at the Capitol, escalating his effort to keep about 700 pages of records secret.

Insurrection is also defined in the United States code and is a criminal charge.
And yet none of them were charged with insurrection. Disorderly conduct can include activities such as being drunk in public or being too noisy. Parading, demonstrating, and picketing is literally protesting. So no, those are not insurrection.
He was wearing pants and a shirt and had a tactical vest in which he had his cell phone mounted as a body camera. Is this what people are clutching their pearls over now? Clothes?
A flak jacket? Seriously? Like from world war 2? Most likely he had some sort of soft body armor, maybe with a trauma plate. It certainly doesn't appear he has a flak jacket in the photos.
I know tons of people with as many or more firearms than that. His firearms were stored in a gun safe in his home. What do you feel is the significance of that. Isn't his "insurrection" the one time people would fear he would be using this arsenal? Yet all he took into the Capitol was a taser. Seems like he really nerfed himself on his way to overthrow the government. Did he just want to do it on Legendary difficulty or something?
[quote[He was caught on take discussing whether to bring the guns stashed outside the capital into the capital:[/quote]
I think what you meant was he recorded himself discussing specifically NOT bringing guns into the Capitol.
    Yes, which I already said.
Were you offended by his foul language?
    What does it sound like?

Odd... you carefully edited out the quote of what he said,

btw, here's what one wears to take an innocent tour of the capital:

Your defense of this guy as well as the other insurrectionists stem from your political support of donald trump. Pretty simple to see.

I sympathetic that these people, clearly of diminished capacity, have been brainwashed into this nonsense.

In spite of this, these are terrorists. There is really no other way to put it.

Need to throw the book at them to prevent anything like this from ever happening again.

Need to prosecute the enablers as well, Fox, OAN, Trump.

You've gotta understand that politcs aren't a war. Or they shouldn't be. I have tons of liberal friends and we get along because we rarely talk about it. I'm all for any respectful debate.

But it always needs to either be respectful, or ignored. Calling people names or insulting them based on a view you disagree with is never beneficial to either side.

    Cheers.

Lol the whole board can see it ..but he's just an innocent jorgensen voter!!

One of the prevailing themes of 'debating' orange supporters is they are incapable of intellectual honesty or any kind of good faith. It's as useful as debating a flat earther.

I was at a party in high school and the police gave everyone inside the house a minor in possession alcohol ticket and I had to go to court. We were invited in..

No sympathy for grown adults breaking into capitol. It's funny how snowflakey repugs get when talking about this. The same guys that would be going full Rambo if in their front lawn

He isn't worth arguing with. That dude is so ridiculously ignoring the truth because he is hell bent on defending traitors, Trump, and anyone else supporting hate, insurrection, and the party of evil. He says he isn't a Trump guy, but it is so obvious he is.

Yeah super obvious but don't you guys find it weird and creepy to run all this sheepish - ' I didn't vote for orange but I'm just saying' ?? Always so innocent haha

We are talking choosing orange over things like BREAKING IN TO THE CAPITOL ON VOTE CERTIFICATION DAY.

choosing a word salad of mental gymnastics in the name of orange. Weird!!
Creepy! Puts the lotion in the basket!!

Like if a guy I like does something wrong I call it out. These guys will go to creepy weird lengths for orange?
If Im going to give props to orange it really is his ability to get people to do this. It's so weird.
They are the people that think they are normal too and it makes it all the more fun..
My favorite is when they talk about pelosi and blame her for random shi*it in their lives.

Nope. Voted for Johnson and Jorgenson and have repeatedly stated that Trump is a moron and not a good president (though I don't think he was as bad as others do). At least he reshaped the court in a better direction.

    Heh, yea, sure.

In the mean time the FBI released this new video showing people that "trespassed"... a three hour video from a single surveillance camera at one of the entrances, showing law enforcement officers getting attacked by tourists with various weapons, er, tour gifts they must have picked up at the capital gift shop.

I find it ironic that the dumb ****s that were harping over Benghazi are pretty quiet about this attack. The Hypocrisy is deafening.

Yes, those are the rioters. I think you are very confused. No one is calling the people that fought the cops tourists. None of the people were tourists, because the building was closed and tours were not occurring. Some of the people were seen walking through tour areas, velvet ropes and all, taking selfies with the officers. Some of the people were rioters (fighting with cops, breaking things, vandalizing), some of the people were thieves (stealing, obviously), some of the people were trespassers (entering property illegally). Some of the people were more than one of these. Being one does not mean you are any of the others. Each should be punished according to what they did. If you are trespassing and steal a laptop, you are not the same as someone that walked in an open door and took a selfie with a cop, then wandered through an area normally open for tours and should receive different treatment. If you are beating a police officer with a flagpole, you are not the same as someone that illegally entered and walked through restricted areas without touching anyone. This really should not be a controversial position.

This guy got an extremely lenient sentence... if you look through the earlier tweets you will find out he wore a body armor vest, had a knife, argued that it was "a coup attempt fomented intentionally by right wing actors who used data mining and psychological manipulation. Vulnerable individuals were identified & persuaded through the internet that it was their patriotic duty to come to (DC) to support Trump". And while the judge was troubled by the knife and the defendant's prior criminal case (he was 19 years old trying to get a 16 year old girl drunk), she seemed impressed that he was going to counseling and got two kittens.

Not confused at all. I am not the one defending "zip tie guy" nor am I trying to lessen the seriousness of the January 6 insurrection...

I wouldn't worry about it, the Colorado truck driver whose brakes failed got more than enough prison time to go around ;)
