Has anyone used these guys to make a purchase? I just bought a DLP TV from them online ten minutes ago. Everything seems fine with them, they passed the BBB test. Just wondering if anyone has any insight or personal interaction with them? I'm weary of having a huge TV shipped from CA, but for the price, I've taken the plunge!
Actually it was the new generation HLP, just came out this month. It replaces the DLP. GREAT DEAL! Plus got the extended warranty.
I'd be scared to death to have something go wrong on something like that. What do you do? Call a local repair guy? I guess. What is the shipping cost on that thing anyway?! BTW, did you look at the Sony Grand Wega's? Damn, I went to a home theater store here in Dallas and the picture on those things were unreal.
Is it www.tvauthority.com? If so, they have a grand total of 1 review on resellerratings.com and it isn't exactly promising (especially since it regards their extended warranty) : http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6574.html Oh, and how much did you pay?!
OK, here's the deal. They sell the 50" HLP for $2899, which is less than the current HLN is retailing for at BB and CC. Shipping is free. There is no sales tax. I bought the 4 year extended warranty. This cost $289. They use the same company that BB uses for their extended warranty, so a person is dispatched to your home when something goes wrong with the TV. So total of only $3200 for the HLP with 5 years of warranty (1 year Samsung followed by 4 years with the extended), which is a few hundred more than what the current HLN models retail for. Well, I still have a few weeks to cancel the order. But the price is so damn good, I just want to get the TV. Of course, since I don't have HD programming, I'll be watching crappy coaxial standard cable on it.
