Based on your review, I'll watch it. I haven't seen Resurrections on HBO/Max because I didn't want to be disappointed again. I loved the original Matrix and have seen it several times, but the two sequels were a let down, at least for me. Now I'm intrigued. I rarely see something in a theater right now, with Dune and Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch being two exceptions. Fantastic films! Definitely "theater worthy."
I was pleasantly surprised. I liked that they didn't just rehash the original and that it was kind of its own thing with a different take. I thought it was at least better than the sequels. It definitely wasn't a repeat of that crap. This acted as a nice epilogue and made up for some of the mistakes of 2 and 3. I enjoyed it. Obviously nothing will come close to the original.
So, we're supposed to go in like movies 2 and 3 never happened? Pretty soon...we'll be ignoring scenes from specific movie sequels as part of our selective memory entertainment personas (SMEP). I'm a SMEP-er! You're a SMEP-er! Wouldn't you like to be a doctor of SMEP-er, too?
Didn't think it was terrible but it wasn't great either. I'd give it a C-. The action scenes were not good, but the acting was commendable. I can see some fans hating it if they were fans of the history/lore/story of the previous 3 films. I had to watch a recap of the trilogy to remember and still forgot you can't just unplugged from the Matrix when in danger. Someone had to tell me that when I was like, why don't they just unplug to escape at the end lol.
No, they reference what happened at the end of 3 many times as the springboard to the current story arc.
The show was awful and so was her acting in it. She has no chemistry at all with the main star who also sucks. She looks cute though.
Nah, Last Jedi was complete **** imo.. You couldn't pay me to watch that dumpster fire again. If anything, Resurrections is the Anti-Last Jedi. That's my experience with it.
