So, there I was, innocently watching "Hotlist" or some name very close to that on ESPN News. What comes on but interviews from Lakers and Pistons players? Well yeah, that would make sense. I watched. I vomited. Kobe doesn't talk about anything but that he's been attacking the basket and that it "hasn't got me to the line, for whatever reason." That irritated me enough, but then Rick Fox comes on and says "I think the onus is on the refs more than it's on us." This kinda reminds me of a few things Shaq said during the oft-discussed LA-Sac series of a few years ago. After an early win, Shaq had said something to the effect of "I can't believe they're whining about the refs, they need to just play basketball like men." A few games later, when God forbid the refs actually fouled Shaq out, all he has to say is "yeah right, they didn't really beat us. The only way to beat us starts with a 'C' and ends with a 'T.'" Oh yes, I understand. It's never okay to whine about the refs, you should be real men. Except, of course, if you're the Lakers. How about this guys: either don't belittle teams like Sactown and Portland who had far bigger beefs with the officiating, or STFU with your own ******* whining. I'm f*cking sick of it.
Winners win. Losers make excuses. Sounds corny, but I think there's a lot of wisdom there. Seriously...if this is their attitude, they're done.
It's already done. They got a pull off a miracle. Kobe has to grow up, take over the game, and stop whining about the fouls. This is the FINALS, DAMNIT.
What's amazing is how obvious it is. If they could just see the light. Shaq versus a 6-8 guy. Single coverage. 80 points per night. Done. Duh. I'm glad Phil can't get through to wunderkind kobe. Dork.
