Agree. Only time I've watched an entire previous season to watch the new season was altered carbon. Then, season 2 was a disappointment in comparison although not as bad as people made it out to be. Just watch the recap unless you absolutely loved it.

Really enjoying this season. Characters and actors are so much better than Wheel of Time.

    It was ok.
    The season seemed long.
    Too much meandering
It was not bad ... just could have been down in like 2~3 less episodes

I think WOT could have learned some things from The Witcher regarding casting or directing/showrunning. Even as dour as its world can be it has loads of funny moments.

I thought season 2 was much more concise than season 1.

It was a fairly enjoyable season since I enjoyed the action, setting and actors but it suffered from bad script writers. Supposedly they diverged substantially from the source materiel which may or may not explain why the story was so muddled.

Season 2 like season 1 gave me little reason to care about the politics and struggle between the different kingdoms and factions. Saying this wasn't the Lannister vs the Starks is an understatement.

The prophecy behind Ciri was interesting at first, but they just keep repeating and teasing it EVERY episode. At a certain point it just got annoying.

The storyline with the dead witch in the gingerbread house was meh and seemed like a device to keep the three female mages connected or give them a more dramatic storyline.

Yennifer is still a selfish and entitled character, though not as bad as the first season. The scene involving her and the royal execution was beyond stupid.

The Elves storyline could've been much better. Instead I'm confused as to why the Nilfgardian's general think they are useless while the North think they are a powerful enemy. Furthermore why do the elves themselves vacillate between fighting and rebuilding. Aren't they being hunted and persecuted? Arent they in someone else's territory? I mean do they even have a choice?

The season would've been much better had they focused more on The Witcher training Ciri and fighting off monsters and those who are trying to take her.

Enjoyed it overall.....but thought the final battle was very underwhelming. Seems like they really struggle with big picture ideas and putting it together as I was more interested in the world building aspect.

I thought it was okay. There weren't enough fight scenes in my opinion. The character connections with Ciri felt rushed as well. The Witchers and Triss/Yen love her but we didn't get enough screen time to see it. Too much plot to go through and not enough episodes.

Logain was pretty well cast but a minor character, always paraded around.

Finished off season 2 this past weekend. Enjoyed the hell out of this one. I have never played the games or read any of the source material, so I'm surprised by how much I liked it. I thought the acting was pretty good and there were several relationships that I found myself caring about very much. Namely Geralt/Ciri, Geralt/Yennifer and Geralt/Jaskier. Which is three more relationships than I cared about in the Wheel of Time (mainly because of meh actors and poor writing). The fight scenes were pretty good although I feel like they kind of dropped the ball on the final fight. Those basilisks weren't enough to rescue the fact that fighting the witch was pretty much just them standing in front of her and yelling.

I think I've got a bit of a man-crush on Henry Cavill. I thought he was an amazing Superman and wish DC had done more to give him decent material. I feel like he is perfect in this and his passion for this series definitely comes through. He manages to give just enough emotion that he comes off as an emotionless mercenary type, but not so little that he is totally boring. The perfect badass.

I hope they have another season. I have no idea how popular the series is on Netflix but even though I'm reading the WoT books and love them, I find myself looking forward to more Witcher than season 2 of WoT.

I enjoyed season 2 even more than season 1.

Watched it at the same time as Wheel of Time and thought the Witcher was much better. The special effects in the Witcher were top notch, especially the episode with the bruxa.

I liked the WOT but the Witcher is definitely have better casting and showrunner. They don't worry about ticking a certain set of boxes and just concentrate on the story without making astoundingly dumb decisions. Still, some parts of WOT were well done and show potential, like the Spear Maiden fight. I just wish the people who are showrunning the Witcher were in charge of WOT instead of the actual weirdo in charge making all the dumb decisions (ie: For example, WTF did Perrin need a wife he killed or create a love triangle between Perrin/Rand/Egwene, just dumb).
