What I find ****ing annoying is the hoarders buying **** they won't shoot, and then blaming Biden and Democrats for the problem even when the CEO's of the ammo companies are pretty much saying that it's the hoarders. We went through this after Sandy Hook. I know people that still haven't shot the stuff they bought in 2013. I have plenty of powder but can't find primers anywhere.
in the gun quality control department: The New Marlin 1895 SBL .45/70 Rifle Is the Best Lever-Action in the Company’s History Marlin’s iconic lever-actions make a triumphant return under the ownership of Ruger https://www.outdoorlife.com/guns/marlin-1895-sbl-rifle-review/ excerpt: The Marlin 1895 SBL in .45/70 Gov’t is the first rifle out of the gates since Marlin was acquired by Ruger, and after using one for the last several weeks and taking it hunting, I am breathing a huge sigh of relief. Ruger has done right by the beloved brand. And not only has Ruger rescued Marlin from the wreckage of the Remington bankruptcy but based on what I’ve seen so far, it is making the best lever-actions in Marlin’s history. Put simply, Ruger has successfully reincarnated Marlin as a modern gun company. more at the link
I had forgotten about the hoarding after the Obama victory. I was working for an energy company with natural gas traders talking about buying up the ammo before the government comes to take their guns. Good lord
The hoarding really happened after Sandy Hook. Everyone thought that if anything was going to push it over the edge, it was a bunch of dead children. Once the Las Vegas incident happened and there was no legislation, I knew that nothing will ever happen around gun laws. The only time something happens is if politicians are directly affected ie the Brady Bill. The gun culture in the US is crazy as ****. The number of dumb asses treating their guns like hod rods is just weird. I'm a member of several online gun communities and the number of how does this look on my gun post is whack AF. They care more about how their guns look than their girlfriends or wives.
https://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/11/11/obama.gun.sales/ According to FBI figures for the week of November 3 to 9, the bureau received more than 374,000 requests for background checks on gun purchasers -- a nearly 49 percent increase over the same period in 2007.
WASHINGTON (TND) — 2021 is on pace to see the second most firearm sale background checks in U.S. history following a record-shattering 2020 that saw background checks for firearm sales reach 21 million. The FBI, which manages background checks for gun sales, typically processes around 8.6 million annually, according to FiveThirtyEight’s analysis of data. “The annual total so far of nearly 15.2 million background checks is putting 2021 on the path to being the second strongest year on record,” said Mark Oliva with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), according to Bearing Arms. “It is currently behind only the record shattering 21 million background checks witnessed in 2020 and the 15.7 million background checks conducted during 2016.”
