I read where his agent said he would play for the exception range, sign him for a year.Maybe he can be more of a tutor to cato. This only comes in to play if we can't sign the dream. This is just an idea to kick around, but we would be getting some more veteran leadership from a different source.maybe the dreams soft spoken, watch me leadership hasn't helped cato see the light. After all pat knows that we make a lot of money and we spend a lot !

If you want a player that'll motivate Cato to play, then get Oakley. He's not afraid to get on a players a** if he's dogging it & that's Cato's middle name, Kelvin "Doggin' it" Cato. However, I'm not a big fan of Oakley's either.

Ewing would be a great alternative to Dream.

No way on Ewing. He can't get up and down the floor with the kids. Yeah, I know that Dream can't but Dream has an offensive post presence that Ewing has lost.

    Ugh.

Ewing looked nailed to the floor in Seattle, and he still doesn't have an low-post game. He would not be a good fit for our team.

Sure, just hire a monkey to take Dream's place. That's your solution to everything.

I never thought of the Oakley thing, it's a GREAT idea.

I'm SURE it would jumpstart Cato, not to mention make sure Griffin grows swiftly.

I think if we re-sign Mo, Moochie and Hakeem, then maybe we can trade KT and a player to the Raptors?

They wanna re-sign Junyard Dog, Antonio Davis, and they already have Keon Clark.

    It's a great idea.

Just one thing....Vince never yelled back, but I can easily picture Cato yelling back.

Ewing would just plant himself in the low block and call for the ball, if it didn't come down to him then he'd just stand there and clog up the lanes so that Steve and Cat couldn't drive, and is anyone going to try and make a case that Ewing will actually run back on D?

I would rather get poked in the eye with a number 2 pencil than see Ewing wearing a Rocket's uniform. Wilt the Stiff has more game left.

Well this pretty much sums up my feelings! And if you want to know my feelings on acquiring Charles Oakley, read this post again and replace Ewing's name with Oakley.

I'm with you NYKRule. I hate the way people on this board talk about Ewing. He embodies everthing that is good about the NBA. He brings a warrior's mentality every night, and is a great locker room presence. He is a good person and a leader. If I could have anyone win a title next year, it would be him.

I agree with you about Patrick Ewing the person, but Patrick Ewing the basketball player is washed up.

He averaged 9-9 last year in 25 minutes. Those numbers are not that bad, and I believe that Ewing was under utilized last year in Seattle.

I`ll tell you what we should not sign DREAM back because i really don`t tink he will last all season. That romdon or what ever it`s call is just killing him in march no way at his age should we sign him back let`s just move on.Patrick no way he`s real slow and might be even slower next season how about that free agent from the hawks?hay if Collier is healthy that`s gonna be a big plus for the rocks. You never know the rockets just might have a little magic left.WEBBER?

Yelling back would require some effort & intensity on Cato's part. If Oakley could get that out of Cato, then I'd think that he was well on his way to motivating him to be a better player. [IMG]
