UT Football Thread

I respect that you can look at it rationally and get that this is the time of year to be optimistic but I push back on the idea that this fund is gonna somehow catapult UT into being on another level than any other top program.

UT should be able to go toe to toe with any of the top programs on its own merits, I think it's delusional to think this pancake fund somehow gets you a leg up on the competition.

 

Exactly who is thinking or saying this?

My entire point was that UT should be in on these guys anyway because they are that type of program and this fund seems like a naming gimmick.

Anyway, I said everything I wanted on this topic its just kind of funny that it's thought of as some kind of great idea.

The glaring hole on the team was OL/DL and they killed it this recruiting class. LB is still thin, wonder what's brewing in the transfer portal.

Dude makes plays up the field and on the edge (he wrecked s**t against Lake Travis, Katy and Guyer, the 3 games I saw him play). Needs to bulk up, I'm assuming he redshirts.

 

UT hadn't signed a 5* OL since 2009. The best lineman they've had in the past decade was a 3* (Connor Williams)

 

Him and the other DL for Westlake combined for 6 sacks last night. Really hope Flood and Davis stay long enough to coach this class up. Huge haul for the program.

 

Walked in to the LT-Westlake game on 2nd series, first play I saw was a QB/RB run/pass option to his side, he grabbed the tackle by the shoulder and threw him inside, RB tried to bounce outside and kid tackled him by the knees 10 yards laterally from where he lined up. I said "who the hell is that guy?". He's been on my radar ever since.

 

Multiple sites reporting that Andre Coleman is on his way out. Brennan Marion out of Pitt has been mentioned as a possible replacement.

 

Yeah the wide receivers except one player played badly

This is what's been at the heart of the problem for years.

 

Of course it did...you tell an 18 year old you can get 50k per year and free college.....that is a MAJOR advantage.

Kid can get a car, take his girlfriend out.....
