When we renounce Dream, we got about 14mil, right? So why not sign Dream, Mo and Shandon to equal contracts giving Dream a one or two year and SA and MoT five or six years. I think if they sat all the guys down they'd realize they're all equally important to us next year so equal amounts of money should be fair to everyone. Throw in Mooch for the exception or whatever and call it a day!

Mr. President. No man thinks more highly than I of three legged cows. They deserve to live. On my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of reason. Cows with three legs are good. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth : three-legged cows are better. They are better because the meat on them is better. The steaks are more tender. Three-legged cows tend not to wander as much. These cows could be the symbol of our country. The world would look upon us with great respect. They will want our cows and pay good money for them. The cows could symbolize freedom and hard work and three legs are better than four. They are meant for us; they can be meant for no other.

I dissagree. Not all players have the same ability, and therefore should not be paid the same. No way is Shandon worth 6 million a year. Mo T is asking a little too much at 8 million, but Moochie does deserve about 3-4 mill. Moochie works his @$$ off every night and has been mostly consistent in the games that he has played in.

Moochie is worth more to this team than Shandon.

    ------------------
I would rather have Mo Taylor and his love of the Rockets than Webber and his love of our money.

Rocket's need power forward. Mo near now. Go near Mo.

That's as crazy as someone paying Cato $7 million per year!

Why all the Shandon bashing yall? Shandon has been an incredibly important part of this team and huge contributor to the Rocket's success, which should not be taken lightly, as a team on a highly accelerated rebuilding process. The Rockets will offer him what they can afford depending on their priorities, but we should support bringing him back and not bash him all the time. We're supposedly not going to start Eddie Griffin (or T Mo) at SF so who would you rather start? Walt or Langhi? I say Shandon is our best bet and the only player on our team worthy of our starting spot at SF. Hell, bring Eddie as our first option of the bench and he'll be backed by a solid starting five.
Shandon also is our best player at the 2 besides Mobley because if Steve goes down then Mooch has got to step up to the starter role and unlesshe plans on 48 min a game then we have to rely on Sean Colson? I say no thanks, I'd rather add (or retain) some veteran depth to this team and welcome Shandon home with open arms.
Honestly and I think most Rockets fans would concur, THERE IS NO FREE AGENT OUT THERE WORTH BREAKING U0P THIS HERE TEAM FOR.

I've heard Eddie won't start on this board and I also sincerely hope we don't start Eddie at 19 years old one year removed from high school. Kobe didn't start when he entered the league, not that Eddie's like Kobe but I would rather not have a teen-ager on my starting five. I prefer Shandon as our starting SF. What about depth? What if Cat goes down or Walt? or Langhi? I mean Walt and Langhi are not the most durable guys on this squad. Or watch Eddie boy pick up a few inches while he's still in his developmental years and slide on over to PF.

... Kobe also had to compete with Eddie Jones for playing time.

Big difference between Eddie and Kobe.:

Kobe entered the NBA straight out of High School without ever playing against top flight talent.

Eddie spent a year playing and dominating the best college basketball had to offer. Eddie has proven so much more with his one year of college than Kobe ever did playing High School.

College is not only a good training ground but a good proving ground for what your capabilities really are. No one coming staight out of HS gets that.

The difference in compitition from college to the pros is not as great as the difference of compitition between H.S. and the pros.

Eddie is much more prepaired for the pros than Kobe was or Darius Miles last year or Kwame Brown, Eddie Curry and Tyson Chandler this year.

Eddie will be a major contributer on the Rockets this year.

It was that Blinebury article that said that Griffin was destined to benchdom this year.

He's not destined to benchdom, but if we retain Shandon then let Eddie earn his spot with the starters. He could easily work his way off the bench if he'sall he's cracked up to be. I say first option off the bench.

in comparing kobe's situation to eddie's, remember, kobe was being groomed for an nba career by his father since birth. his dad played in the nba and kobe spent time playing against european players in italy.

thus, kobe was better prepared for the nba than any of the HSers. just thought i'd throw that in there.

now, i hope griffin is a major contributor, too. but without shandon, we will have to DEPEND on him, and that's something i'd rather not do. i think shandon is definitely worth $5 million.

to the shandon bashers: you do know that SF is not his best position, right? if re-signed this year, he can play more time at his true position, SG, while at the same time spelling our un-tested rookie SFs (and virtual rookie Langhi) when the game is on the line. we don't have anyone else who can do that (and don't say walt or bull, cuz when the game is on the line you need someone who can play D in the game!!!!!)

if we don't re-sign shandon i will be disappointed. not crushed, but disappointed.

I wonder if Sacramento is dumb enough to do a sign and trade of CWebb for Mo T and Cato.

Don't pinch me, I know for sure I'm dreaming!
