I'm hoping they retcon 2/3 as a bad simulation from the machines they are just waking up from after movie 1 where they were captured.
Screened last night and it's very divisive. Mostly disliked by fan boys who wanted fan service. https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2021/12/szwtbq1vtaq1pyib4w1lfdcce9n5ql
Thanks...IMO, the fact that it was even made was fan service. I'm such a fan that I'm more interested in the mythos being extended than fights, which, from watching the trailer, there are some.
Oh no, it's terrible. Like really terrible. Go in expecting the absolute worst and you might not be disappointed.
I largely agree with this review, the writing was straight garbage, the action scenes were uninspired and boring, the general concept for the movie was stupid. Doogie Howser was just about the only thing that ever worked, but even his character didn't always work and you could fit entire universes in the plot holes. It's one of those movies that you realize it's pretty bad while you are seeing it, but gets worse the more you think about it afterwards. It just should never have been made.
2 and 3 wasn't bad. It clearly came from different stock compared to the original. If it pivots into an alternate reality style, I might be ok with it. If it goes down Disneys modern Marvel path, I wont.
No interest in this whatsoever. The Matrix is probably top 40 all time for me, it's amazing. Since then, the Wachowskis haven't directed a single good movie IMO, they've ranged from terrible to meh. They have a career off one movie, and it's no surprise that the only way the studios would let them make another movie is if they went back to their one success.
