They're entitled to that right since the Mets set that inexplicable market, and they feel strongly he's at least on par if not better than him. The Mets may be the only one ridiculous enough to be able to give him more than Lindor.
Who knows honestly. I wouldn’t have thought Detroit would offer $275,000,000,000 twelve months ago…. I suppose they feel a fall back is a contract with a quick opt out and if he has a huge 2022 (which he is due to have) then he re-enters the market next year. What I do know is he isn’t coming back to Houston and if they are wise in spending their money, I can live with that.
Kim Kardashian and that comedian dude. Don't recall or fare to recall his name. Not sure how that's relevant to the Astros but that's the answer to your question
It’s Pete Davidson, big SNL/actor, and I posted it because I thought the “hoes mad park” tshirt with the MMP logo was awesome. He’s a big NY guy as well so a double entendre if you will.
Unpopular opinion but I'm team Dusty for 4 more years or so. Of course he may want to hang it up at anytime.
I know, And when we do succeed him (even smaller minority) I don't want Espada. I want a veteran to succeed him for a contending team. This isn't football or basketball where you're looking for a young hotshot "innovator" at head coach. They are managers, not head coaches, for a reason. I prefer experience for a manager taking over a playoff team. Of course you have to get that first experience somewhere, but my philosophy is that, as a manager, it comes leading a rebuilding team. I know this would be downvoted a lot if this board had that option, but I'm just sharing my opinion.
I'm fine with your perspective on wanting a veteran but I feel we succeed because we have the best talent in the league. His pitching management was atrocious during the season. Now, it was much better in the playoffs but no thanks to anything more than one year
Correa loves Espada. By all accounts he is a great infield coach. Jeremy Pena needs to develop just like Correa did. Whether Correa or Pena is who you want having Espada helps.
Just saw that Verlanders 2nd year player option only vests at 130 ip in 2022. That makes the deal look a LOT better for the Astros.
Is kicking the tires on dinosaurs in vogue now? He does have a .506 lifetime win %. Not garbage, but doubtful he moves the needle there IMO. https://www.baseball-reference.com/managers/showabu99.shtml
