Jalen Green statistically has been the worst player on the team. Jalen Greens physical measurable + handles/footwork at his age and experience projects a topside that's worth developing for in the future.
Who are these people? You’ve defined his career after 18 games. That’s just as deranged as the 2 people that called him Kobe before the draft.
I've defined who he is now, not who he might become. Miracles can happen, that's why I'm not speculating about one happening or not happening.
His handle is trash right now, other than that I agree. If that's what the fanbois were saying, there would be no disagreement.
I addressed this, the part I don't get is why Jalen is shooting so badly on open and wide open 3s. My assumption was that the shooting in the g league is so much better because they don't play defense. So most, if not all, of your 3s in that league will be wide open. But Jalen Green is shooting most of his 3s either open or wide open. He's shooting 29.5% on wide open 3s, and 27.5% on open 3s in the NBA. What's the explanation for that? Did he just forget how to shoot? Is it nerves, the crowd, something else? Doesn't make sense to me. I'd like to hear if others have a theory on this because I just don't get it.
You fools calling him a bust are hilarious, none of y'all know anything about basketball. He's 19, jfc.
yeah maybe a combination of nerves, crowd, large stadiums, biggest stage, legit pro NBA opponents causing him to adjust his shot maybe a higher/faster jump and higher/faster release. his current shot mechanics isn't producing consistently efficient results theres alot of work needed in that department
I'd be interested to know how you find this information. Can you show me how to access it? Can you paste percentage and number of shot for 3 from wide open, open, and contested? It could be nerves or something else. Maybe a wide open 3 in the NBA is somehow different from one in the g league? Like maybe players in the NBA are wide open for .5 seconds but in the g league it could be 1 second or something like that. What were his wide open percentages in the g league?
Not sure where those stats are from but I’m calling bs in most of his threes being “wide open”. I watched the games and the offense was not generating a bunch of wide open looks. If he did get an open 3 it was usually because he created it with a step back or something.
Sure, its on nba.com, I'm clicking through it now and the numbers are different from what I posted, not sure what I was looking at but the idea is the same. His shooting percentages are extremely poor on open and wide open 3s. Now it says 22% on "open" and 31% on "wide open" for 3s. Here's the link - https://www.nba.com/stats/players/s...stRange=6+ Feet - Wide Open&TeamID=1610612745
So maybe the way they track it is off, or maybe it's because we've all got varying definitions of "open", but here are the numbers via nba.com tracking. It has 96 out of 115 shots as "open" or "wide open" - 0/0 Very Tight (0-2 feet) - 0% 7/19 Tight (2-4 feet) - 36.8% 12/54 Open (4-6 feet) - 22.2% 13/42 Wide open (6+ feet) - 31.0%
You are forcing yourself to find an answer. The truth is he played 16 games in the GLeague and that is also a small sample size like the 17 games in the NBA now. We can only evaluate the data of an entire season, or at least 40 games played. What I can tell from his shooting mechanics, it is not pure, it is not pretty, and he is not a knock down shooter. EGo should teach him as much as he can while he is still here.
