He tries to take a lot of charges too, always inside the restricted though. Probably best if he went straight up.
Sengun 22 minutes with 1 foul? Does Silas realize that Sengun is a better prospect than KMJ, Christopher, Brooks, Matthews? Can we play favorites and him Sengun his 30 minutes a night?
It’s gotta be conditioning and wanting him to spend most of his PT against second teams so he can really get confident. But he’s proven enough to get an opp to start, I agree. Didn’t he have one start earlier in season and had a great game?
probably at the same place where people find the stamina excuse for not playing sengun significant minutes
Most big men tend to foul a lot in their first couple of seasons. But I like how it doesn't seem to keep him from being aggressive and playing his game. Great poise from a 19-year-old.
lol is this really so... i really didnt notice any significant difference in senguns play with regard to who is it thats on the other side... and for the stamina excuse sheesh...thats so lame and sooooo sooooo fake that i trust more injury reports of tanking teams
https://theathletic.com/3019404/202...game-comes-easy-to/?source=emp_shared_article HOUSTON — The day after Thanksgiving, Rockets rookie Alperen Sengun knew he had some extra work waiting on him after practice. Spirits at Toyota Center were understandably high that morning; Houston’s depressing 15-game losing streak was just snapped by a gutsy comeback win over the Chicago Bulls. Sengun played particularly well, finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, two triples, two steals and a block all in 16 minutes. That mattered a lot, as it was another impressive display in what has been a bright start to his NBA career. But that game was done with. It was on to preparation for the next one. After pausing to tie his shoes by the baseline, he left his seat and headed to the court. “Come on, mother****er,” Sengun joked to lead assistant John Lucas, who stood on the floor shaking his head and laughing. Their relationship is almost like father and son these days, Lucas the affable, stern type and Sengun the playful antagonizer. .....
For those hating on Lucas for his comment about Sengun ... please read the article from Athletics. Lucas is a player's coach. Sengun views him as a fatherly figure. Lucas is harsh on Sengun because he knows how good Sengun is now and how much better he will become in a few years.
It's obvious that Lucas is the straw that stirs this drink. ALL the players respond to him and his guidance. Lucas understands the MDA offense and the importance of switch defense. There was a reason that both Harden and Westbrook favored Lucas for HC.
