"cant shoot" https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...a-record-for-most-3s-in-a-game-by-a-teenager/ "cant dribble in traffic" hmmm. seems like only other "generational" talents were able to drop 30 in an NBA game at age 19. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...youngest-player-to-score-30-in-a-game.313502/ Jalen Green sucks at defense. Wow groundbreaking stuff there. Other than Mobley who was touted as a defensive stopper out of college - Jalen Green's 115 defensive rating falls within striking distance of every other top rookie from his class. Some who were broadcast as having defense as a ready made skill. Green himself has stated his defense needs to improve https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/best-defensive-rating-nba-rookies. Good thing for Jalen Green there is only one way to go since he's the "worst player in the NBA" still funny to see how this kid has been labeled and cast off within the first few months of the season! LOL Its like watching hard drugs kick in the way those posts devolved just on that page alone wow! Mental health is important y'all. #bewell.
No matter how you spin it one game with hot shooting on baddest team in the nba doesn't change anything. His statistics pool is too small to be relying on averages. His stroke is not sustainable with current form. When proper nba defense is set he can't do anything. Watch the games.
When is Green getting back on the court? I was expecting a few games ( perhaps a two weeks), but he’s been out now for 9 full games plus the one he got hurt in.
Don't hurt them VC Clutchfans has never been this splintered with so many factions collected together. *The anti-Silas: they don't know if they want the Rockets to win or lose *The Sengun only fans: want everyone handling the ball eliminated so that Sengun handles the ball all 90-something possessions and plays 48-minutes. Win ROY award over Mobley. *The Mobley only fans: Jalen Green haters, would love Rockets to lose so they can claim victory (stroke their egos) and say, "I told we should have drafted Mobley!" Even though success of a career is over multiple seasons and not solely judged on their first two months as a 19 year old. *The anti-Theis crowd: dude sets screens, rolls to the basket, gives you adequate interior defense, shoots about 33% from 3 for his career. But for some reason he is unplayable. Many contenders would take him in a heartbeat. Boston rumored to want him back badly. It's the little things that don't show up on the stat sheet. Like boxing out or tipping the ball to your teammates. Robert Williams can't stay healthy. Theis stays healthy and does all the dirty work. Tate only fans: just want Tate handling the ball. It's not like he can shoot. Although he did finally shoot well this past game. Keep it up. Tankers: just wants the Rockets to lose. Hard to distinguish between Rockets fans and Trolls that love watching Houston at rock bottom. ________________ My narrative as I've said before: 1) just want Porter/Green to learn to facilitate (spacing now helps expedite that.....had 5 defenders in the paint before) 2) Brooks and Mathews to learn some defense. Vastly improved as of late We know they can shoot.....it's their defense that will keep allowing them floor time. 3) Team get some experience. Toughest thing to do is put teams away in the 4th quarter and hopefully get some playoff or play-in experience. Better to get some of that experience now rather than later. Seeing Chet only score 10 points in a college game in regular season speaks volumes. The top prospects are not just going to swoop in and save the day.
Squint harder. You might make your narrative fit that he's a good shooter. I love how you show one game to justify this. Me? Nah, I'll look at every game he has played and notice a trend that happens far more often than once. Jolly, your one game criteria would crown Brandon Jennings the scoring champ. Mental health is important, y'all. #besmarter Hahaha did you just really link a YouTube video to try to disprove the comment he cannot consistently handle the rock under pressure? Oh kid haha this is more embarrassing than I thought. It's becoming a recurring trend that you like to focus on the overwhelming small sample size that fits your narrative, and lalalala I'm not listening when the vastly more adequate data says the opposite. Hopefully Jalen isn't as blind as you. If he has your terrible narrative filter, he'd look at the 1 win he helped contribute to as a overwhelming positive. Whilst conveniently ignoring those (insert number much higher than 1) losses he was a main contributor towards. Hopefully the worst player on the worst team (when he was playing) is learning things whilst he sits there watching what it looks like to be a good NBA player. I give credit where credit is due, Jalen is a quick learner. It wasn't too long ago was it he couldn't shut his mouth. Claiming he'd be ROY. He remembers not going #1. Talk about a quick tail between his legs retreat. Teams are thanking the Rockets that they drafted him. #bewell Jalen. I'm going to need to focus on my mental health when he comes back with this whack jumper. Oh that's right, he's a good shooter hahahahaha
Think back to when the Warriors held Curry out for way longer than necessary with his injury, to save him the embarrassment of what was happening on the court.
3rd worst amongst rockets in 3 pt shooting % slightly better than Garuba worse than Tate worst in defensive BPM 2nd to worst in net BPM only slightly better than House
Aren't they all Mobley nut hugger threads? Pretty sure this is the "Evan Mobley and b**** if we win games" section, no?
Yeah, I get that Green has been bad so far—literally no one is disputing that. But I don't understand the point of overanalyzing and tearing apart a 19-year-old based on an 18-game sample size. Has Mobley been better? Absolutely. His game was also always going to translate to the NBA more quickly because of his size and defensive skillset. Also, Green had played noticeably better his last 4-5 games before the injury. Let's let him get healthy and come back to a superior offensive basketball team with improved spacing to see how he does before we crap on his rookie season and call the pick a huge mistake.
If that was true, there would be no conversation about it. Unfortunately you are giving the mindless Jalen Green simps too much credit. There are several throwing tantrums when people point out that Green has been terrible thus far. They call it "hyperbole", they attempt to attack every basketball metric for not realizing the greatness of their hero, they attempt to blame it on anyone and everyone else, they look at one or two fluke games to suggest he's actually doing better. I don't think this Jalen Green simps vs Rockets fans divide is going to be solved any time soon unless Jalen Green stops being terrible at basketball.
Why are we arguing about whether Green is good or not in this thread? It's irrelevant to this thread. This thread is about his current health status and I just went through pages looking for an update on that and could find nothing but off topic bickering.
Love to see the Rockets lie about yet another injury. "1 week" has quickly turned into 1 month and zero update about when he'll play again
Read between the lines, I would say January. Earliest after Christmas. They have no actual plans for him meaning they do not prioritize him right now. Try to squeeze the last juice from Eric, Augustin for a trade.
Its laughable at this point - somewhat concerning at times how far the anti Green brigade will go and thus the mental health line is very much genuine. At first it was "all we got was an outside shooter at pick 2" when he was shooting well. Then it turned into bad shooting form (LOL) since he's been in a shooting slump. Then it turned into being a bad dribbler?? Okay! His poor defense was something everyone anticipated, but for whatever reason Green needs to be better than his rookie class defensively to be adequate? At least they got away from his looks and irrelevant topics. There is a certain similarity between all of the Anti Green trolls and it doesnt have much to do with basketball, but I'll leave it at that.
