I'll go old school, reminds me of this guy, but with better hops... https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/n/newlimi01.html
he cant be one because he wont get enough minutes. Armoni can do more than just shoot, hes better at closing in on drives. Christopher is a better defender, rebounder and can play the point. Plus, now that teams will be aware of what we are doing with brooks and matthews theyre not going to be as wide open, as milwakee started closing out on shooters mid game. Hes a role player that can only score based on what the other teams defense is doing. He cant create his own shot.
Remember the Philadelphia Sixers when Charles Barkeley burst into the scene? That team had shooring guard Andrew Toney. Andrew Toney was super. He was a consistent scorer for the Sixers. He was instant offense, a big part of the sixers success together with Dr. J and Moses Malone. I see G. Mathews as the Rockets version of Andrew Toney.
Great short video highlighting Toney on a great team, most of it playing against another great team, those Celtics. Good times. That soundtrack might drive me insane after awhile, though. ;-)
Last 5 games: 3PA/game: 7.2 3PM/game: 2 3P%: 27.8 Watching his shots during this cold streak and it seems like Garry Bird is reverting back to his "old" ways of letting both his shot and his body fly at the same time. He's also, for some reason, trying to draw more fouls over the last 5 games on pump fake 3s. Like I respect your hot streak, Garry, but refs aren't going to give you that call so temper your expectations. Nonetheless, I still think he can be quality rotation guy who's worth keeping.
