The key is that Mobley works in Cleveland's system but wouldn't fare as well in Houston's. What's even more interesting is that we had the chance to have Allen and Mobley on the same team on our end. That's what should sting the most. But a rebuild is a rebuild and we have to commit to our own timeline and direction.
Has JGreen worked in Houston's system? One could argue no; but I'm hoping the one big lineup will. Time will tell. Was being cheekly. My hope the one big thing working is more on Theis and less on Wood. Because if Wood can only do well as a small ball 5, then that limits the lineup you can play around him.
Lol imagine a team high on Allen and Mobley, both of whom will get progressively worse at guarding the perimeter as they age in a league that's getting perpetually more perimeter oriented. Except the the GM's that are lying to their fans by insinuating that bigs are making a comeback. Mobley is the best of the pair and he's putting up 14 points on 11.5 shots in 33+ minutes. Will regret nothing with Sengun and Garuba on the roster. Won't be more than a year till people are wondering how we nabbed these two with relatively late picks. Sengun would be putting up better numbers than Mobley if given 33 minutes and the green light to shoot at will.
Mobley would be a clear upgrade over Tate at PF, same position he plays with Cavs. I imagine Rockets win streak would have started sooner and lasted longer, even in Silas system. Porter Gordon Mathews Mobley Woods With Sengun, Tate, JC, KJ, Brooks and Garuba off the bench. That would have been a tough team, offensively AND defensively. This lineup also satisfies Silas fascination with 2 big lineup.
