Yeah this was new from Sengun, having a stretch where he can dominate matchups, this is a great sign for things to come. He's looking like a potential 20pt 10reb 5 ast guy with good defense down the road. That's an all star player on a higher seeded team.
Silas is protecting Sengun. From what, I have no idea. But I don’t see him cracking 20 min. per game this season unless Wood is traded.
To be real Sengun's weakness had been fouls and turnovers. He also looked gassed at one point in the game, but as he gets better on his reads, not fouling and playing longer minutes productively he'll get there. He's the future, sometimes you just have to be patient. Unless you're a talent like LeBron, Luka etc. rookies typically develop over years in the NBA before stardom.
to be real you look gassed btw, would like to see lebron or luka playing in 4 minutes spurts 12 minutes a night in the silass 'system'.. i dont think youd have recognized them
The important thing is we have Christian Wood. Enjoy the bench for 3 years until you find another team.
It was one of the funniest things I've seen this season, a 19 year old from Turkey visibly frustrating and mind-f*cking a veteran like Cousins in four quick minutes.
Clutchfans is so full of dumb, uneducated, backward neanderthals. Learn some ANALytics guys. Low Post play is passé.
Alpy is fearless. The league is not ready for his court awareness and him knowing where the goal is in his nolook shots.
I get the hype but if you guys look closer. Sengün only hit 16-20% from 3 in the last 6 games. He only attempts like 1 or 2 treys a game. His role as spacer has been limited, Sengün has to practice shooting 3s, that will open up his game and he can score in the 20 points regularly. It will also draw him and his opponent a tad away from the basket, decreasing some of the foul numbers.
He is not going to be a regular 20 pts guy if he cannot make his 3 pointers. Refs will not give him the star treatment. In fact the most he scored until now is 15 points, you could blame his minutes but he had 26 minutes PT against the Lakers and only scored 6. Jalen Green plays worse but already got a 30 point game under his belt early.
It is perplexing how simple and doable it is for Sengün but it takes an offseason to get his 3 pt shooting to 33-35+ % on 4-5 attempts which would be perfect spacing for this system. The correlation is what matters. In a coach's mind you make the 3 pointers first then your minutes get increased. It is not the other way. Green capitalized on his high draft rank and he took advantage of guaranteed minutes by chucking shots. The only reason why Green was getting 30 mpg in the first place. But he still sucked overall. I bet you that a 2nd pick has more early rights on Playing Time than a 16th pick.
A 16th pick that Rockets traded two future firsts for* And yes I agree he was given the spot. The logic is inconsistent though from the staff. One has to earn it, the other doesn’t. One has shown more while the other has had flashes but overall been pretty bad. I want both to succeed but one is helping the team, the other? I’m not so sure
