Clearly the FO wants it known the Wood is available for the right price. I just don't think Woj would retweet a piece by MacMahon on Wood for no reason. They're building up his value, and stories saying they won't trade him but "will listen" is just their way of saying "best offers only."

You think Woj RTing a story about Wood’s comments on the win streak is somehow tied to the Rockets trying to up his trade value? That seems like a stretch.

Believe what you want. Second retweet of a Wood article in so many days. MacMahon was the first source who broke the trade story and then later "updated" it saying the team sees Wood's prime as coinciding with the teams growth but "they're willing to listen" to offers.

I think it's likely the team doesn't trade Wood, but I also think the FO wants to trade him.

The Rockets do have a serious conundrum. They are set with young improving players at every position but PF. Guards: KPJ, Green, Jaygup, Matthews, Brooks, SF KJM, Tate, Garuba, KPJ(?), Jaygup(?). Sengun and Wood are centers, period. If the answer is trading Wood, what PF is available? I pursued every roster and couldn’t really come up with one that would be available or would really fit our need. We already have a lot of picks and so many young players that need playing time, do we really want to trade Wood for more picks? I was against it before, but I guess expirings and picks for Wood is the only way to go, with the hope, that we can turn those picks into a grab at Paolo or a boatload for an all-star PF (but don’t know who that would be). Please D-Rock don’t say Simmons is our PF answer that has been discussed ad-nauseum. Who is that other dream PF that we can pursue, either through the draft or trade?

I don't know a whole lot about him but I thought Garuba can play at the 4? At 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan I think his size is good, but I've only ever watched him in a few g league games.

He can be a good defender and rebounder. Offense will be limited.

The problem is that we have a lot of good or will-be-good-soon players but it is hard to convert these into a borderline allstar player that can lead a team in the playoffs. I agress with the PF point, but I would still give priority to getting a top level guard (unless you think that KPJ will develop into one. I certainly do not think so)

So Wood for a disgruntled star (Simmons) or for prospects is what we are looking at.

I think the warriors would a good team to contact. Some sort of Wood for Kuminga type of trade would be good. Add fillers where ever needed.

    Ben Simmons

Rockets need better ball control & point play, need more rebounding, need better transition defense, need more disruptive plays, need more length and size.

Rockets need upgrade at PG and/or PF.

    The answer is obvious.

Garuba is better option than Theis.

    Much more skilled than Theis.

Wood & House to Chi for Patrick Williams and Coby White.

    KPJ/White
    Green/Christopher
    Tate/Martin
    Williams/2022 Draft pick
    Sengun/ Garuba

Add shooters (Mathews, Brooks and from the draft) and the rebuild is done.

That actually would be a great win-now move for Chicago. However, If Wood can't play with Sengun how is he going to play with Vuci Mane?

Wood+Nwaba+Gordon+ Bucks pick for Simmons. I have doubts about Simmons and his ability to lead. BUT if was bought into the vision for 2 years, we could have some lit kindling.

    Al P/Theis
    Simmons/KMJ
    Matthews/Tate
    Green/Brooks
    KPJ/Augustin
