It's never struck me as particularly interesting, but everybody pretty much loves it so I guess I'll have to put it on the list of stuff to catch up on.
Its a reboot and a sequel to the original trilogy all in one... a very tall task to achieve, but somehow they're pulling it off. If only Star Wars had a semblance of this sort of self-realization, they wouldn't be thinking about undoing everything they just did.
Right there with you. Most of the premises of the plot are kinda dumb and juvenile, but that's what Karate Kid has always been for the most part. They seem to have done everything right for what it is. There are few shows right now that get me this hyped for a new season.
Not sure. I think it was the final episode of season 2 that I accidentally watched as the first episode of the season. Then, once I saw the fight, I just couldn't go back to watch the season from the beginning knowing it was leading up to that. So, I blew it off. This new season does look intriguing, though. I think I saw Daniel-son and Johnny getting ready to square off in the ring again in the trailer. The poster implies the two are friends now, though, up against the other baddies. Are they in a man-bro relationship? lol
I saw the first season and it was pretty much perfect. Ambiguous as to which guy was the bad guy as it showed past events from Johnny's perspective. I have only skimmed the rest after that but it seems like a series of ridiculous misunderstandings inside a high school drama type show.
Nah I wasn't feeling this season. I mean it's ok, but season 3 was better. It's starting to get repetitive with the same rivals and dojo every season. Hope season 5 they switched it up a little.
I pretty much agree. The show is starting to feel a little repetitive. Spoiler I think it's due to the same thing happening between LaRusso and Johnny, the whole back and forth of we're going to team up but then we don't because we can't get along. Even thes relationships are still back and forth on the same spin cycle, I love you, I love someone else, etc. I guess I was hoping this was the season were things would start to move forward again with some real storyline advancements but you can only have so many recycles of the same story.
Honestly . . . Young Kreese and Silver is looking funny and interesting to me Some good interactions and dialog Rocket River
My thought was the final fights had some moments, but good lord, it took a long time to get there as we went through all kinds of teenage drama, the over-sexification of the evil female karate, and a lot of miagi doughiness. but the humor for Johnny was still spot on. Thought the evil guy was solid, but I wasn't buying into the Kreiss storyline. Some of the finale fighters were believable like the original movie, but all too often they have dorks fighting and it's really lame. Overall enough that I will watch again. The one thing I really liked was that as Kreiss set out to right his past wrong with Johnny in the final fight, by doing so he directly led to his failure yet again. Clever.
