Looks like Tech is doing an in-home with Ewers today and UT visit scheduled for Saturday. This is an unbelievably important recruitment for Sark.
looking at recruiting. what in the hell is going on at Westlake? The number one QB in the nation this year and the number offensive tackle in the nation next year? uhm ok
Man look at these jerseys they be wearing. Public school. Tax dollars paying for LULULEMON gear and 50mil stadiums just so some kids can get CTE? It's ****ing socialism is what it is, you ****s. Don't want him, GLAD he's not coming to MY school.
They recruit in the summers, I have a good friend whose son was in Houston his freshman year and transfered after being recruited in a 7 on 7 tournament to move to Austin and play there. Westlake cheats.....plain and simple. My pals son was recruited FROM Katy to Westlake. DD
The post that he said himself was coming from a crap source? And even if you get Ewers it does not refute anything I said about that money giving you a leg up on any other top 10 programs. So again what are you talking about?
Development has been the key issue for UT going back to the Mack days IMO. But top talent leaving the state has and will continue to be an issue as well. When you look at last year's roster, believe it was something like 50% of those top classes Herman brought in were still there. As far as NLI, very few programs will be able to garner the type of money that is being offered team/unit wide like UT just did. And while the extra $50K may not be a game changer in itself, need to consider that it is just a starting point along with the other $100K that is being offered team-wide. Look at it as having a head start on top of whatever additional NLI they are able to get. Also don't forget that is yearly. If you are a top lineman, you are potentially looking at earning $600K min. if you stay 4 years.
UT certainly has elite resources from alums..... but we are going to see programs like Alabama and the other "blue bloods" match it or close to it. What this is really going to impact is those schools outside the top 10-15 programs in the nation.... before a team like UH or Ole Miss could get some kids because of location, that were elite... I don't think we are going to see that as much going forward. Oddly I think that we will see the power of donors increase even more .....
