This number from RI keeps calling my girlfriend's cell phone. She's told them once they have the wrong number, they apoligized, then hung up. But about 4 months have gone by, and they still call on a pretty regular basis. Sometimes she's just ignored it, and when she does pick it up they usually hang up on her. She called them back tonight and fussed at them and ask why they keep calling... even threatened to report them to the police for harassment and all they do is deny it...then call again 30 minutes later and hang up! What can we do about this!? Would the police care about this and give us some assistance, or should we not waste our time and just have the cell phone company block the number or give her a new number?
no...i agree with what he said IN SERIOUSNESS. it works...i've done it to the point that they were begging me to stop calling and then finally blocked my number.
I get a lot of calls from bill collectors for the lady who had my telephone number before I did. When I tell them they're calling what is now a wrong number, they don't believe me and keep calling. You'd think that three years (which is how long I've had this number) would be enough to get cycled off their list, but nope.
Last year we used to get a lot of calls from bill collectors looking for a guy who had lived there the year before. We actually knew the guy, he had moved to a different room in the dorm. One of my suite mates got so annoyed that he gave one of them the phone number to the room he moved into.
I get calls on my cell phone from bill collectors for my roommate who lived with me 2 years ago. And I didn't even have a cell phone 'till this past November! And then when I first got my cell phone, these guys would call and ask for someone, and I'd tell them they've got the wrong number, but then they'd just start talking. Hey boo, you sound fine. Wanna meet us at the club? You know, the such and such club. They stopped calling once I ignored their calls.
I get calls from charities that the former owner of my number used to give to. He must have been a charitable guy because some of these people seem to be on a first-name basis with him.
