I have an opportunity to go on a 2 week trip to China with a symphony for a ridiculously low price and I'm taking it. I should be going through several cities, and have some time to do some shopping. Any suggestions or recommendations?
well... you can get pirated DVD for the equivalent of $1 each... if you're into that kind of thing. they like to rip of white people so watch out for that, never get anything at face value always try to haggle. make sure you enjoy the food because it's awesome. otherwise... enjoy the sights and since you're going in a group i'm sure they have picked out the good spots for you.
First and formost, this thread is titled wrong. What the tread title is suppose to be is "Looks like I'm going to Shanghai."
oh and see if you can get pirated xbox games... i don't know if you can but if you can then spread the wealth eh? on a side note i'm posting from canada right now and it's pretty cool. everything we have... they have.
Badminton racquets are like 60-70% cheaper over there. Good ones, too. Pick up as many high end Yonex racquets as you can afford and sell them when you get back home (locally or on ebay).
If it's with symphoney, then you're a musician right? Pick up a couple of cheap violins (not bad quality just cheap), always a good gift for any ppl that's just starting. Pick up pirated games if you have a moded console. Enjoy the food. Buy some clothes, chinese follows after European fashion, steals the designs and slap their own brand on it. You can get some nice threads for like 1/100 of the price.
