True, but without a better offensive line another QB or RB will struggle to do great. We need offensive linemen bad!!! Sure, we need receivers, cornerbacks, and defensive stars too, but that offensive line is killing us.
I'm all for building in the trenches with personnel for the OL and the DL, however the Texans should draft for need (since they need everything). I don't want to see them reach for a player based on position. If there is an future perennial all-pro at DE vs. the best OL available (who could be JAG) I'd rather go for the homerun pick. Good OL can be picked up in rounds 2 & 3. Overall I just believe they should go BPA.
I am not disagreeing with best pick. I'm saying if we get one of the first 3 picks in the draft there has to be a potential ALL pro stud offensive lineman worth grabbing. We wait too long we won't have the best we can get to build a really great offensive line. We need that so bad. We have needed that for years!
True, but take the elite talent at 1-2 and draft OL in the 2nd/3rd rd. You've gotta get a couple of interior OL in this draft and there should be a few really good ones in the 2nd/3rd rds. I'm thinking either Kinnard or Zion Johnson will be available at 2-34 and Salyer/Stromberg will be available at 3-66. The question I have for you is if you are able to draft Kinnard at 2-34 and Salyer at 3-66 would you comeback and draft Stromberg if he fell to the Saints pick, say 3-80? It's quite possible these guys could be available at these picks. They're all big, strong, tough SEC all conference type guys that can move and who could start right away and be upgrades. This would solidify the interior of the OL for the next four to five years and you could move Howard back out to RT and I guarantee you the offense would look alot better. You would be able to run the ball. Pick Kennedy Brooks in the middle of the 4th rd and the run game will be set for years. You would miss out on upgrading the pass rush if you went Stingley 1-2. But I like the job Greenard and Martin have done this year. True, there are 3 elite talents in this draft although there are no Garret's or Watt's/ Ramsey's in this draft. Hutchinson/Stingley/Thibodeaux are great players. You pick one of them if you can. I'm starting to come around on 281's liking the pick to be Stingley if Stingley's proven to be healthy. Stingley proved his freshman yr to be a stud far more than Hutchinson/Thibodeaux has.
We can draft sure fire hall of famer talent and he still wouldn't b able to save this dumpster fire of a franchise. I say come back when cal McNair next successor arrives maybe he would care more about winning.
We should already have our OT in Tunsil and Howard. Howard would be fine if they kept him at RT and stopped moving him around. If Linderbaum is supposed to be an all world, elite, can’t miss C then just take him.
Im totally unplugged cant believe I missed that. Cool - I've actually placed Hutch over Kayvon as the year has played out.
Woo! The fake “generational”, “never seen before”, “out of this world” defensive end who doesn’t get a 2nd contract with the team! Worked so well the first two times. I’d probably take & be fine with AH but I’m so over drafting DEs. Rookie quarterback Davis Mills' performance for the remainder of the season figures to influence how the Houston Texans will handle their offseason. If the Texans end up with a top-three pick in next year's NFL draft, they could lock into selecting a defensive end such as Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson or Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux if Mills plays well over the final five games of 2021, league sources told ESPN. But if Mills struggles, the Texans will have to consider using a high draft pick on a quarterback -- and they could also acquire one in the event that they trade Deshaun Watson.
