This must be a record, right? A 6 game winning streak AFTER losing 15 games in a row?

    It is what it is.

Personally, I love the play-in. I love basketball and I hated seeing about half of the league tank for draft picks and the other half play for playoff spots. Because of the play-in even bad teams can tell themselves "We're only 3 games back, why not?" and at least fight for something a little bit longer. It's going to make the end of the season a lot more exciting for more of the league.

Sure sure sure, a play in team isn't going to win a championship, but I enjoy seeing competitive basketball first and foremost.

With the lottery flattened out a lot more and the play in, it means by the halfway mark you're going to see maybe 6 or so teams completely out of it while everyone else will be fighting for a shot to make the playoffs.

Also, fans always say they hate being 8th seed until they actually are in that position. I remember the excitement of being the 8th seed when we had James Harden, the playoffs are fun and even though we lost it was then about how can we get better and not be an 8th seed but a 4 seed next year? So we get Dwight and the rest is history.

Yeah but they do not celebrate records like that.

Comparing getting a young Harden who was already a 26 ppg scorer to a team like the former Atlanta Falcons....Hawks is a tad reaching.

It was more the excitement having Harden on the team than really being a low Playoff seed.

Dwight from Georgia did not work out that well and all is sadly history.

Had a nice run from Parsons before he became a douche.

This is different, Gordon and Wood are clearly auditioning for a big contract, may it be on this team or another one.

One of them will be moved to open up even more minutes for the young.

    Eyes on the prize.

I'm really not comparing that...in fact, I never mentioned the Hawks or Atlanta at all???

I'm saying that playoff games are fun. It builds a positive energy around the team and it can be a launching point a lot of times to better teams.

There's going to be a lot of disgruntled stars coming up soon and we have the assets to acquire them...now all we need is the reputation that this is a franchise going in the right direction to get on their list. If we're led by young players I don't see making the playoffs (although unlikely) as a bad thing.

Problem is you are not led by young players, you are too long on this bulletin board to not notice that. Do not be fooled that easy. Enjoy the moment.

This surge is led by a 26 year old Wood, a 32 year old Gordon, a 25 year old Garrison, 26 yr old Tate and so on while Porter and Green are in and out of the lineup, Sengün is playing abysmally few minutes.

I tell you that Stone is tasked to set up for a longer future while Silas wants to win now despite being forced to play Theis because his overall record in the NBA is still 30% win rate.

    They are at odds.

(And you can bet that Wood and Gordon will cool off once they are getting paid handsomely, it is the NBA after all)

Very optimistic mind. But ima hard disagree about being happy in the 8th position, since no team has ever won a ring statistically. A lot of folks watch a team watches it hoping for a ring. None of those crowd is happy 2 just get into playoffs especially if it's a given that we have a playoff contender. Hence the endless btching when harden "chokes".

Folks that u describe r just happy to get the playoff participation award, and say oh well after watching their team get massacre. Your type of mindset reminds of those Texans. Wizards and all mediocre team that has fans that r happy their team at least made it to playoffs and don't mind getting ass blasted cause at least we aren't the kings/other sht team.

Getting Into playoffs to get ass blasted is not competitive. Thinking so otherwise is just weird.

With Harden it is different, of course folks were going to be divided.

But for those folks that value legacy, winning it all or at least making the Finals multiple times is a must to be considered Top 5-10 Alltime.

And I am sure many of us would have wanted to see Harden rise to that occasion and make it.

He had all the tools to be considered one of the Greatest among the even Greatest.

You do not get that often - and I cannot imagine either Wood or Green ever getting that chance as a clear Number One option (never say never)

Not getting a top pick will be highly disappointing

    But aren’t you having fun?!

Winning with Danuel House and Eric Gordon and Christian Wood and D.J. Augustin and y’know, guys who may not even be here in a year?!

Why would we want a top 5 pick?!

Correct! It's not the pick that matters. It's winning. Just look at where's the 76'ers after having so much top picks. There are a lot of very good players even outside the top picks.

26 isn't old though. I'm not sure when 26 became old around here. Wood's timeline might not fit with KPJ and Green but 26 isn't old at all. Also, we have no idea how Wood will behave after getting paid.

KPJ still is going to play a large role on this team, he was playing really well before he got hurt again, the fact that they've won like 2 games without him doesn't wipe away his presence on the team, it speaks more to their recent will to win than anything else.

I was not saying I am pro or against anything other than it would be wise to get a Jabari Smith or take a shot at Paolo.

Like with real life decisions, there are consequences.

Just live with it. Being Okay with more winning streaks.

26 is not old per se but in the NBA being 26 or 27 you get your 2nd or 3rd contract already.

He is by far more ready than Green, KPJ or even Sengün. Timeline is a biash.

    Hard decisions must be made.
