There’s a lot of arms already in the bull so it made sense to let guys walk in FA. Like mentioned 1000 times in the last week or so, trading Odo is a possibility as well as non tendering Montero. One of those spots could go to a power lefty arm.
The staff only gave up 3 runs in Game 4. You're also assuming had they won Game 4, they wouldn't have lost Games 5 and 6, you don't know that, who knows how those play out. I'm not understanding your thought process here.
Are the Yankees going to pay Correa? Seager was their target, by all accounts. Now where do they turn?
So who's going to pony up 10/$340 for Correa? Dodgers? Yankees? The Rangers because they're clearly drunk off of their asses?
The best of the names on the list that Redfish posted were Rodon and Desclafani. Both had great regular seasons and started playoff games for their teams. They combined to go 4.1 innings.
Gallo is a very interesting potential target for Houston. Can play CF, a lefty bat, adds HUGE power to a mostly on-base style lineup. He would fit extremely nicely into their lineup. Just depends on what the Yankees want for him. 2B Altuve LF Tucker 3B Bregman DH Alvarez 1B Gurriel CF Gallo SS Diaz LF Brantley C Maldonado
Yes. But he also walks a ton, hits a boatload of HR, and is a good defensive player. I wouldn’t want Houston to give up major prospects for him, but 1-2 of their upper level pitching prospects (Abreu and Solomon?) for him would be a good/fair deal.
I wouldn't be a happy as a Yankees fan if the team traded off the good CF to keep the mediocre and expensive one.
At this point, it seems the Rangers are solely in the business of inconveniencing the rest of the division. Still no threat to actually win anything, but steal a few more wins and drive up free agent costs.
