Ideally KPJ and Wood keep improving, you drafted a stud this year (which may end up being a fail) draft banchero or whoever next year, make the playoffs in another year or two, have a ton of cap space and sign a superstar free agent. Back to winning. I guarantee you that is/was the FO’s plan.

My point is how would you know he doesnt get enough playing time. Just because he's a rookie doesnt mean he is automatically not our best player. We are never going to find out if we expend so much energy on vets and not enough on rookies.

His PER 36 would put him as a better player than Mobley. He has issues with turnovers and fouls. His shooting and defense can be streaky. His offensive footwork and body positioning is superb. I’m ready to see him vs some #1s in extended periods too, but if Woods is going for 33/16 what do you do? Silas is running 41 more. I’m down for trading Wood and giving that time to Sengun. I’d like to see if everything translates.

I did not take it as seriously as you might think but the more you even compare him hypothetically the more people will be buying into any hype of a future Top 3 pick.

I answered just that. You have no divine power to make Green play like Jordan or Kobe for that matter, but being rewarded a Top 5 pick is fairly easy in today's NBA.

The one part is too much fantasy while the other part could be reached realistically.

I think you are too disappointed with said poster's reaction that you did not think Green playing like Kobe or Jordan is very much a thing of the fantasies, it has little probability to even getting close to.

I mean what is your guarantee for the poster to make his mouth watering at a Jordan prospect?

(IMO that poster wanted a do-over for Jalen Green, naturally he is going to choose the top 5 pick)

    Whatcha think?

i think you are not made for a nuanced and metaphoric discussion...
    btw
its more realistic that jalen green becomes kobe than top 5 pick in this draft making this team win the championship

All true except that he didn't say anything about Top 5 pick winning championship.

Just another chance at a star.

Kobe's style is outdated, nobody is going to chuck that much.

LA treated him like a king and he had green light to chuck for a decade.

Everything you said is absolutely right. Wood isnt averaging 33 and 16 though and I think we wouldve still won that game and maybe even in regulation had Sengun been given some of those minutes. The Rockets have a decision to make. People become very loyal to certain players and coaches and it keeps them from growing. Im worried the Rockets may be heading in that direction.

Yep, the 2004 Pistons won without a superstar.

    It is very rare.

The system has to be flawlessly flawless.

Maybe they didn’t have a “superstar,” but they had 4 all-stars and a top tier role player in their starting 5. One of those all-stars was also a 4-time DPOY.

You can compare to last year's Phoenix if you do not think Booker is a superstar yet.

They do not even have a DPOY as far as I know.....you may correct me.

So will these high picks too...You guys love the Harden experiment even though it was going nowhere with the worlds best 6th man and bunch of pointless accolades. Nothing wrong with building the team the right way instead of looking for short cuts. There are none. Sorry. Didn't work with Tmac, didn't work with Harden. The way I see it....you love losing and it suits you better than me, trust doofy.

The Rockets future have never looked better.

Got to have a big brain think beyond just this season and immediate gratification. I know that's hard for you. Don't hurt yourself though.

What team was a contender after drafting a Top 5? Holgren is a lanky stud. Make us a contender? IDK but for sure will make us better in all the areas we need it.

Shot blocking, rebounding, and mobility on switches.

see the context of discussion to see how the quoted fits....context is everything

btw hes a lanky stud? you mean stud like jalen green the stud or andrew wiggins? ill pass

imho no player is worth a season of losing games on purpose.... didnt play a minute in nba and you guys are falling for the media hype like a clockwork...lol will he be injury prone?... will he want to work out predraft?... will he mesh with sengun, scoop, etc?, will he have the drive? will his game translate?...will he...? so many questions and unknown..........so many unknown you assume will go right......

if you need shot blocking rebounding and mobility then you train your players...this is old school...and youre more likely to do it that way than all of the assumptions above to be proven correct

also bear in mind tanking is against the nba rules ITS LITERALLY CHEATING , you may as well go pay the refs and it would be as legit as achieving anything by tanking... and its not fun at all... i wouldnt want to win it all by losing games on purpose for 10 or so years...its pathetic and its not basketball...
