Mentally he is a ninth dan so well deserved. Routinely flips his opponents in the media.

I’ve heard the knee pads always come out when Trump is with Putin. I assumed they were being used for something other than sparring.

First off Chuck Norris does Karate and not Taekwondo.

Taekwondo has a bad reputation for promoting people quickly and often for money or publicity. There have been Taekwondo schools that have promoted 5 year olds to black belt, something that would be unthinkable in Judo. This pretty much no different.

Putin's 9th Dan was also purely honorary for publicity purposes as he is a Judoka and doesn't do Taekwondo. In Judo though from what I've seen and heard Putin is the real deal. While his 8th Dan rank is largely honorary he definitely earned his 5th Dan.

All of that said I would pay to see Trump try an Axe Kick.

Putin and Trump. Great job at devaluing the sport and the seriousness of it.

dont conservatives and republicans always complain about how giving out participation trophies has contributed to the snowflakization of america?

this is actually worse than a participation trophy - fat boy gets the highest level of blackbelt without even participating in the sport.

Flapping his jaws is all he does. Biden drop kicked him right out of office without desperately gathering masses of maskless followers for months at fundraiser campaign rallies. Trump drop kicked hundreds of thousands his Covid hoax believers 6 feet under. He can take credit for that with a red death belt.

Norris initially did Tang Soo Do when he was stationed in South Korea, but likely trained in Karate and was doing Machado jiu jitsu on episodes of Walker. Separately it seems like '60s and '70s pioneering fighters and teachers like Pat Burleson, Allen Steen, Jhoon Ree, Golden Greek, Bill Wallace, and Joe Lewis-types conflated "Karate" and Taekwondo in their marketing, media and competition literature.

If it wasn’t for participation trophies Republicans would never get any. You remember that fat, ugly kid in school who always got wedgies and picked last in dodgeball?

Yeah he grew up and is now Ted Cruz.

    Explains a lot doesn’t it?

I think a Steven Seagal vs Donald Trump match is appropriate. It will be like Rocky IV...Russia vs USA. In case you didn’t know, that is where Steven lives now. Watch out for Steven’s hands, Donald! He can disarm a monkey holding a banana quite easily! Maybe you can lie yourself to a victory, Donald, with no blows delivered! Just tell him how great you are until he folds into a bow of respect.

True when Taekwondo first came to the US they often conflated it with Karate to get inroads into the market.

My guess is that 8th degree in TKD might be honorary. I'm surprised he's only a 1 Dan in Judo. He did quite a bit of Judo early on and had trained with Gene LeBell.
