I pay more into Medicare now (at age 41, not receiving any benefits) than I pay for my health insurance. My health insurance is less than 2% of my paycheck, and most of my usage has either no payment required (I had a 10 dollar copay when I got a CT scan). Hell no I don't want government run healthcare. My worst experiences are dealing with the government (IRS, DMV, etc.) All the private institutions that I deal with that have competition (Amazon, banks, restaurants, etc.) have good, fast service and generally low prices.
...what would really clear things up is if all of these people just stopped diddling around and went ahead and seceded already. You'd get all of the Kyle Rittenhouses who'd volunteer to go to the front lines, and a real chance to make America great again... ...you could probably get a few of the faithful here to actually draw up the articles of secession the right way this time, and make sure you don't let posterity know (just in case things turn out like they did last time a bunch of people had this idea) what your REAL reasons for resorting to violent sedition were... ...never hurts to have a back-up plan...
It sounds like you have a very nice health plan through your employer. If so, you might want to check how much your employer paid on your behalf (I think they report it through your W2). If your employer doesn't have to pay this, they are likely to increase your income by that amount. Many employees do not see the true cost of health care because they don't have to fool with shopping for it directly and paying all of it themselves. My bro-in-law works for a big oil & gas company and he has a very nice health plan for his family. He pays relatively little for the plan. His employer picks up most of the tab. My retired parents are on SSC and Medicare. I help manage their financials. Both are well run. Medicare is federal health insurance with private providers. You might be thinking of Tricare or VA health programs - those are run by the DoD and I don't know anything about them. But consider this (military or veterans would be on Tricare/VA). Gov health care and insurance have higher satisfaction than non-government. When you look at other countries' health systems (usually a form of one payer), they have higher satisfaction than the US and in many cases, have better health outcomes.
Kevin McCarthy is seriously freaked out that if the Republicans take back the House that they'll name Trump speaker.... which it's looking more and more likely by the day, and if they have the margins I have no doubt they'll do it. I know people will think this is crazy, but I honestly think they will do it... even though it'll be Steve Scalise, and Gym Jordan who actually do the day job while Trump just holds ranting press conferences.
Yep. The idea was floated right after the 2018 mid terms as a way of elevating one of the rising stars (Stacy Abrams, Beto, etc) that lost their races. Unfortunately that idea elevated the idea to the Republicans and now here we are. Except the intention is pretty clearly based on what we all think it is based on.... We all know every Republican will get a hard on knowing they have Democrats shaking in their boots that heaven forbid something happens to both Biden and Harris that Trump then becomes president. It'll have a chilling affect on all of government and create havoc in of itself. Republicans will act outraged when you ask if they are trying to threaten an act of violence, but will wink wink and nod all day long because that's just what they do. I think if it happens the White House will be well prepared though, and no risks will be taken. The only one crazy enough to actually plan out a coupe would be Steve Bannon who obviously is a huge fan of northern European post soviet dictator figures. Trump would be so toxic, and ineffective as Speaker though that it actually might help the Democrats in 2024. I don't think anybody realizes how much of a disaster he would be in that role where he probably has to do three times more than the president does.
Me too. I thought I read that Congress need to elect one of their members. If one of their members can be someone that wasn't elected, then it could also be a dog. Before anyone said that's stupid - well, the Constitution is silent on if a dog can be the Speaker of the House.
...well, actually Ms. Ohmar... ...bigotry got this trash a hell of a lot more than clout. ...she got elected to the House of Representatives of the United States with bigotry, for starters... ...and now, it seems, the sewer's the limit for what she can achieve next...
She followed up her offensive comment about congresswoman Omar with offensive comments about Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg. And of course, with approvals from republicans...
Wow, a $375 pot! You know you're lost on anything to be outraged over when you tweet that crap. Meanwhile, for only $50,000 a couple can have the privilege of rubbing noses with an accused felon and a psychopathic narcissist who would love to get their hands on your money. Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is holding a fundraiser with Donald Trump at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida at which a private dinner, reception and photo with the two of them will be available for $50,000 per person or couple. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/po...-hold-Mar-a-Lago-fundraiser-with-16612947.php
Don’t worry he’s too lazy of a prick and too proud of an asswipe to go backwards and try to be Speaker of the House.
That photo is just creepy. Such a happy looking boy in his suit and tie...lol. Notice his 2 limo toy cars. Such an arrogantly staged photo.
