(Others spend their time bemoaning a paucity of diversity in other areas of employment. This is the chosen area I decided to b**** about.

    It's not, "less black/more white."

It's, "dammit, I want the best players. I'm sick of Mark Pope and Darrick Martin getting jobs every year!")

You've got a good point. Why, for example, there is no Asian American basketball player playing even in the college level?

All Asian parents (of which I am one) tell their kids, "It's fine to enjoy basketball in high school. You are playing pretty good now. But remember this: you have much better chances making millions of dollars being a doctor than being a basketball player. So now, go to your room and study before going out to play basketball."

The way I see is that the best basketball players should play. Basketball is a competitive sport. Many many years ago blacks were not even allowed to play in the NBA and other sports, such as baseball. The color barrier had to be broken. Now, the game is open to anyone of any color or nationality. The teams that feels the need that a particular player would help their team should pick that player based on his skills. The game is open to everyone. I do not see it as a problem that most basketball players are black.

I also want to see a white basketball star. It’s fun to root for the underdog, someone that has all odds stacked against him. Lets face it, with a few exceptions white basketball players are slow and can’t jump. In certain sports the black athlete will dominate. Those that do not believe in genetics are just fooling themselves. Some people will probably call me a racist, but I also want to see a black or female president. Again, the underdog factor.
