This^ Thats why people who compare Mobley and Green now are silly and dont get it. Mobley wouldnt get the same minutes and wouldnt be played at SF Silas isnt that smart. He's not even smart enough to recognize that Sengun should start over Theis or that KPJ probably shouldnt be the point guard. He has no idea what spacing is and he doesnt coach to fit the players he has. People think winning is all talent but if you look at teams like the Nets they shouldnt be just a good team they should be dominating. They have two legit MVPs and the thing that takes talent to greatness is coaching and philosphy. With a different coach the Nets would have different role players and those things matter. With another coach Sengun might have started the entire season and he might be in the ROY conversation and we might have won a couple more games. There are teams that overachieve and there are teams that underachieve and that is largely due to coaching. So yea coaching matters a lot.
IT IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT. Jesus its not just about wins and loses its about how we are doing this. Some of you have the worst takes ive ever seen in my life and then weeks later are shocked when youre wrong. Its like the guys that were arguing with me that House and Nwaba were better than KMJ. I just dont get the logic of some of the people on this board. Mind bogglingly stupid. You think Stever Kerr and Popp couldnt do better with this team than Silas? Did you really just type that?
Exactly. Great coaches know why they are winning/losing games. When to play their players. What their players are capable of. Who to actually play and where on the court to put them and how to play them. Not every coach would have saw what Kerr saw in Green but he saw that in Green because he had a vision for what he wanted the team to be. A vision impacted based on the personell he had (Curry) and where he came from (Run n Gun MDA Suns) so he knew he wanted to play small, play at a good pace, and put up a lot of threes because he had Klay and Curry. Everything fit in from there. You look at the Rockets...what are we trying to do here? A casual look at the roster says we should be running a lot of pick n roll because of our offensively talented bigs. The fact that Wood can hit threes and roll...should make it easy that this should be a constant feature of the offense. "Wood sets horrible picks." agreed. But setting picks isn't some elite skill like dribbling or shooting. It's something that can be drilled into him and shown to him that if he sets good picks he's going to get his numbers and the team will win. PNR also works with Sengun since he can operate and run offense anywhere on the court. He can also shoot the 3 apparently...you do this and meanwhile let Green cut and run off screens I think you have a pretty good offense...but you can't run this with Theis. He's just a standard big that can finish People that think a better coach can't get more out of this team are just confused. I think a better coach wouldn't be playing House at all, for instance. As for the "We don't know if the FO is telling him to play X player" argument. Fair. But don't bring it up to me without evidence.
no cut him for good, cut all ties with him and ban him from toyota center for life...hes a professional loser and losing is contagious...wanna keep your young and cornerstone players away from his bad influence
Something mind-bogglingly stupid is trying to reply to people who don't take two seconds to read a message and understand it. We are in the first year of a full rebuild, with a coach under contract and looking to develop players with the idea of having a high pick again in the next draft. It's not what I like it or not, it is what it is, stupid. Again, Silas doesn't seem like the right coach for this team to me, but the Rockets aren't focused (or built) on winning right now. I already said it before, I share that a great coach could improve the maturity process of our young players, but if what is wanted is to win now, we need much more than a new coach. It's not about what I want to or not, it's about what the organization is doing. It's reality, stupid.
Sacrament wanted to fire their Coach last year but didn't. Not the right comparison but Silas need to stop being LOYAL to Theis and start Sengun. Also, he needs to start Gordon as well.
I agree with you that Silas is not the right coach for this team. He never was. But a simple change of coach is not going to make this team a better team, without considering, in addition, that no elite coach would take a team in total reconstruction and without a consolidated star. Let's be realistic. The organization's strategy is to build a young team with great potential and then incorporate a star and a long-term coach. Is it an easy road? No. Is it what I would like? No, I would like the Rockets to sign Antetokounmpo, Curry, Durant and Mike Budenholzer as coach today. But one thing is what we want and another thing is what reality allows. As simple as that. Greetings!!!
I'm not reading anything else from you today lol Im good. Its the same bullshit from everyone and anyone that tries to defend Silas you just end up sounding like an idiot. Like Popp and Kerr wouldnt do a better job than Silas its insane. If coaches dont matter neither do players or gms NOTHING MATTTERS LOL Thats what you have to boil it down to in order to defend SIlas.
Yes, a better coach makes the team better. You mentioning Giannis, Curry, Durant, etc as if I think Kerr coaching the Rockets would mean they would make the WCF or just the playoffs. No, a better coach makes the team execute and play better. Hell, it might even mean we are 2-14 vs being 1-15. People disappointed with Silas are not talking about wins (although having multiple 10+ losing streaks is embarrassing...might be multiple 20+ losing streaks at this point.) we're talking about how the team looks and how they perform. They perform poorly. A better coach gets them to perform with more discipline, purpose, and consistent effort...and sometimes in the NBA you can win games on just discipline and effort alone even against teams better than yours.
This is important because people that say "No coach would make the team better." are literally saying that coaches have 0 effect on games. Yeah. That's just false. Flat out false.
[QUOTE = "Joe Rocket, publicación: 13830321, miembro: 65100"] Hoy no voy a leer nada más de ti jajaja. Estoy bien. [/ CITA] You have to learn to walk before you learn to run. You must learn to read the messages before making a fool of yourself. No one is defending Silas! Learn to read!
You said Popp and Kerr couldnt do better with this team. Then you backtracked but im the one making a fool of myself? lol Popp and Kerr couldnt do better LMAO. Literally one of the worst takes Ive ver seen not only on this board but on the internet and in life in general. Maybe I am stupid for even taking you seriously and replying to you after that lol.
You keep reading me Butt-Head! I thought you wouldn't do it anymore. Learn to read if you are going to continue posting on the forum. Joe Butt-Head!
