Seguin is a Mexican name that is common enough in Texas.

Used to work in France, Seguin is a French word meaning Glory/victory.

Anyway, I am not here to preach you. Good luck.

Pas du tout mon pote. It's just a name, possibly derived from Frankish.
No French speaker ever uses séguin. There's victoire, gloire, réussite, succès but no séguin.
Simply admit you just looked it up. D'ac?

    You are both right.
Seguin or Séguín is a French and Gascon name. ... According to Jean de Jaurgain quoting primary source Saint Andrew of Bordeaux, the original Vascon name written in Latin was Sihiminum, related to Basque Seme(no), meaning 'son' (cf. ancient Aquitanian Basque "seni" meaning 'boy' > modern "sehi").

I think a lot of Rockets fans are starting to get nervous Green was drafted because of hype, embraced and pushed by this same fan base (a big percentage, of course not all).

The early analysis was that Mobley would have been a #1 pick in any draft that did not have Cunningham. Initially I was seeing

    1. Cunningham
    2. Mobley
    3. Suggs
    4. Green
    5. Kuminga

But then the Green hype train took off. After that it turned into a ferocious why it should be Green here on Clutchfans. Literally the Mobley camp was losing support daily.

Stone did not draft Green based on Clutchfans wanting him, but whatever Green showed to move up the draft over Mobley had to be real, or a tad bit of fools gold foolery.

Hence, Clutchfans overwhelming got the player they wanted. And if most had been a GM, the player they would have drafted themselves.

i came from the Akeem era Rockets; where size used to rule the NBA. But today’s pundits say that guards are to key to victory.

I wanted Mobley, but we got Green. Which I have no problem with. Except we must practice patience, with the added reality that he may not be a superstar but just another highlight reel…. We might have just got our Harold Minor 30 years later.

Bottom line Mobley refused to try-out for us. That's a wrap, there should be no Mobley fans on this forum.

I guess after the whole Harden fiasco, the Rockets did not want to deal with more high stakes drama….

My first option was to trade down if we couldn’t get Cade. My second choice was Mobley. When Mobley and Suggs refused to work out for us, then it was trade down or take Green for me. I wanted to trade down to try and get Barnes and Segun. Turns out we got Segun anyway and right now he looks like the steal of the draft. I am happy with Green’s progression and believe he will be an all-star at some point. Still think he would be more effective coming off the bench when KPJ comes back, but with his progression I don’t see that happening.

And even regardless of that, he's a Cavs player, if people want to root for him over Rockets players then they're in the wrong place.
