Boy, did he win a Finals MVP despite being on the losing team.

He needed that 3 point line or he did not.

I am a fan boi of his, got my vote easily.

When you're not the first option for your team, the defense doesn't focus on you as much.

That's why players like Kerr, Korver, and Klay (KKK :)) have such high shooting percentages compared to some other players that are also considered great shooters.

If KD or Bird didn't have to face whole defensive schemes designed solely to limit their game, their shooting percentages would be just as high if not higher.

That's also why it's so hard to compare different shooters. Some players job is simply to shoot open shots while other players have to run a large part of the offense, most of the time creating it themselves.

This can often make numbers look more deceiving.

I was just surprised I listed three shooter names with K's unintentionally when I was reading it back to myself

Not making a joke. Didn't mean to offend anyone.

I didn’t know NBA Jam had a 3 point shooting contest mode.

Very confused by the options. James Harden is on the list but Steph Curry isn't? I think Harden is a far superior all around player than Curry, but Curry is unquestionably the better shooter of the two.

edit: just realized it's "second best shooter". Are we assuming Steph is the best?

It’s not clear cut, not even #1 is…from who I’ve seen, these 5 are in my top 5:

    Curry, Klay, Allen, Abdul-Rauf, Rice

#1 is clearly Curry. There's really no rational argument you could make otherwise. To me, #2 is Nash.

Then those others are either haters or ignorant (regarding Curry, not Nash).

I think for pure shooters (non-role-player edition) as opposed to scorers who are able to shoot, I think Bird, Thompson and Miller all have very strong arguments as the #2 shooter of all-time. Ray Allen and Dirk Nowitzki would probably be just behind that tier, for me.

Durant, for me, is a scorer who's able to shoot. His shooting is remarkable considering everything else he can do and his athleticism, but I think he's a step behind those other guys as a pure shooter. Harden would also be in that category for me.
