Hi everybody, I'm a rockets fan who was displaced growiing up. Now I'm back in Houston and I want to get my hands on some rockets and other merchandise. Where is the best place to get it? I tried a few places at the mall and at academy but the selection was somewhat limited. I'm actually looking for a Nachbar jersey if that is all possibile. Oh and I want a U of H hoodie too, if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
I'm from Dallas but when I was in Houston last fall the Oshmans over at Westheimer and Post Oak near the Galleria had a great selection of Rocket gear.
Academy and Oshmans usually have a pretty solid collection, not the best. Go to Rockets.com and go to the "merchandise" link, they probably have to most stuff. I have never seen a Nachbar jersey, I doubt they even make them. Good luck
The only way to get a Nachbar jersey is to go to the NBA store on NBA.com and get a customized jersey. Nachbar as the name, #9 as the number. They only come in Reebok replicas (which are the cheap screen ons) and the authentics, which cost up to 170 bucks. They don't have a Nike Swingman bostjan nachbar.
I hope you find more of a selection than at nba.com or rocketsshop.com. I'm out of state and I have yet to find anything on those websites that I like enough to buy. They don't seem to have as much as the local stores, which isn't suprising I guess.
If your looking for any throwback rockets stuff take a stop off at Sharpstown Mall. it's a bit ghetto but they have the most sports apperal stores i have seen. They cater more to an urban market and have a lot more hats and designs thatn most other places for the new and old stuff. You will find a lot of stuff on ebay as well if you are really looking for different items.
The Rockets Team Shop is open Wednesday and Saturday afternoons (via a street entrance) and during games. I do all my Rockets gear shopping there .... Tim
The UH bookstores (both of them) have the best selection of UH gear. The campus bookstore is located in the university center and Rother's (now known as the College Store is on the corner of Scott and Elgin right off campus. here's a few I found online: college shop this one is availible in many more colors than listed at the UH bookstore (and that girl modeling it is even cuter in real life)
I would suggest Academy, most of the time, has the same merchandise as Oshman's and is usually a few bucks cheaper.
