think of the 2021 and 2022 drafts as the same draft, just part 1 and part 2. would you rather walk away with mobley and either Chet, banchero, jabari, or duren.... or green with either Chet, banchero, Jabari, or duren? its too early to tell who will end up better between mobley and green. mobley got off to a better start in the first 10 games. but for those who would rather have drafted mobley, who would you pair him with at the top of the next draft? drafting 2 franchise bigs just means you'll end up looking to trade one for perimeter scoring like green. there are a total of 1 NBA team with max contracts at C and PF. The Sixers with embed and Tobias, and Tobias is a perimeter scorer, and they'd trade him for a scoring guard if they could.
Apparently I'm the only one here that would take Josh giddey at 2 Mobley with his frame I believe will will a always have injuries Barnes is a good all round player but can't shoot a lick Josh is just NBA p*rn fun to watch and now is learning to shoot one yr younger than green so I'd pick Josh and sengun You guys are going based on 10 games saying Mobley should be number two Check back in two years everyone will be saying giddey should have went two or even #1
To compare players with out looking at the variables is a waste. Place Sengun on the Cavs and I know his number would be better than his Rockets numbers. The fact that we got a Mobleyish level player plus used the stolen OKC pick is amazing. We did very well in the draft.
With a good coach (such as Obradovic, Adelman, Rudy Tomjanovich, Popovich, Messina, Ataman,..) Alp will be a player similar to Chris Webber. Of course Alp's bbl IQ is much higher than Webber (remember NCAA Final time-out). Thus, Alp should be selected as #1, no comparison to any other player. Watched 19 years old tiny Pau Gasol in Barcelona and 18 years old Alp in Besiktas. Pau evolved to a real center (he was a promising Gregor ****a type mismatch player then) and Alp will be a great 4,5 (more 4 than 5-more power forward than center)
LOL, The forum censored Gregor F U C K A's surname. He was a 7'1" player, too quick for centers, too tall for forwards. Always created a mismatch.
But i think his c is not č.btw when i was at high school one of my friend took his shoes after the match they were 53 european size.
josh Giddey has definitely surprised me. Mainly because these types from lower overseas leagues that aren’t even dominating those leagues never seem to pan out. that said, and I get Jalens shot % isn’t good, there’s a legit possibility Giddey never “learns to shoot”. The ft% (56%) doesn’t lend hope. But his form isn’t horrible and he’s very you g for sure so it could happen. And indeed if he can become a slightly above average shooter from 3 and decent finisher he has all star potential for sure. I still like Barnes’ upside the most. Has the same shooting issue as Giddey - his 3 % is atrocious but his ft% is better - but can be a 5 position defender.
As to this thread, I see no reason they could t have taken Mobley and Sengun. nobody thinks or thought Wood was the long term answer. If he dominated, you trade him for max value. If he does what he’s doing this year … you wait or trade him for less. there’s also no reason to think with Mobley and Sengun the Rockets wound be 5-11 or anything. Maybe but they still Silas so 3-13 seems more likely. In short still in running for a top 3 pick. Which IS big heavy at the top, but Hardy looks legit already and one can always trade for more. Ultimately they picked second and besides Cade should have picked the guy most likely to turn into the second best player and if they didn’t do that in hindsight it’s a miss. No two ways around that. but that they got Sengun at 16 is freaking fantastic!! And I’d be excited to pair him with ANY of the projected top bigs at the moment. Like even Jabari Smith looks fantastic though I’d obviously love the top pick and pick of the litter so to speak. I’m really interested to see how Duren does against better competition. So far he’s dominating. He’s 21-28 in four games. Hasn’t attempted a three but shoots his ft decently. And is averaging like 5 blocks a game.
We have been there before. In 2000 draft, one of the most promising youngster from Turkey was drafted at #16, Hidayet "Hedo" Turkoglu. It was the shortsightedness of NBA Executives. Hedo should be drafted within the first 6 picks as Alperen. Greg Popovich had a chance to draft Alp at #12 and turn him to "a poor man's Tim Duncan" but didn't. What a miss for both sides. Spurs' miss became an opportunity for Rockets. NBA is the best league in the world (miles ahead) but not all of NBA executives.
So? I tried to explain that drafting Alperen at#16 was a missed opportunity and you say #12 is more dearer than #16. What are you trying to say?
I have no idea wtf you're talking about, but I was talking about how people keep referring to Sengun as Seguin.
Sorry, my misunderstanding. There is no reason to use f word. As a non-native speakers we might confuse sometimes. Seguin seems more French than Spanish meanwhile. Be man and don't swear to people you don't know. I made a mistake, sorry but it should not make a civilized person to insult others. Being an armchair general is easy but in real life someone might punch your face for using f or n words. Behave.
