Given the Houston Rockets have not experienced consecutive losing seasons since the 1983-1984 season, it's no surprise to see the meltdown we're seeing now. There is no Hakeem, Francis, or Yao to bring hope them hope. So here's the Experiment: How long can the fans take it? It's already at a boiling point? Will they give up on the team, become Texans fans, perhaps they will become Maverick or Spur fans? What will happen to Rocket fans before it's all said and done (that is before the next time this club makes the playoffs? To many fans, it's an awfully cruel experiment orchestrated by Tilman, Silas, Stone, and/or maybe even Clutch the bear
When a teams front office decides to tank they basically write off a percentage of fans. “Sorry we are putting out a bad product, we are doing this now to be better in the future “ my answer depends on how many seasons we choose to be bad for . I thought we tanked last year ... ok I understand I thought we would try to have young guys play this year and be as competitive as possible . Well , my expectations needed adjusting . I would hope that by next season we are trying to win 20-25 games . But who knows , we might decide to trade all vets for even more picks in the future and have an even worse squad . I dunno how it’s possible , but I’m not putting anything past us at this point . Winning season ... shiieet that could be 4-5 years from now . If that soon . Green , kpj , and garuba night bust . Sengun and JC might look good then get hurt . All I know is that this went into Tilman’s financial predictions... he wrote us off . So , I would say that if rockets fans went elsewhere ... it would be well deserved. I don’t care if we are bad and are trying to get better . Last season we intentionally lost . This year we intentionally threw green and kpj into the fire ... and predictably ... we are losing . and yeah it’s already at a boiling point . 1 stinking win will do that . Let’s hope the fans give up before the players do , but it might be too late
I'll never give up the Rockets, for better or worse. I think a lot of us are the same--but boy does it suck watching us lose again and again. I don't blame anyone for wanting to take a break, but I can't
I can not speak for all fans but I can speak for myself. I have been a Rockets fan since the days of Moses and Rudy T and Calvin. Been thru 2 losses to Boston in the finals and 2 seasons of being the worse team in the league (that's how we got Hakeem) plus back to back championships. Look if you are a fan, you just stick with it no matter what. Yes things are **** right now, but they have been **** before too. If you fans in Houston are done...let's move the team here to Las Vegas!
If a winning season is above .500, 4-5 years is kind of long; that's half a decade. Not asking for a 'ship, I hope we're above .500 way before that.
I don't think the fans are handling it too bad yet. I just think there's a handful of people saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over again in each thread... mostly know-it-alls who are lonely
most of the city will just give up on the team and stop following them…the team barely gets support to begin with by the end of the year, u could go to TC and have no one next to u within a 5 row radius
I'm sure a lot of the "fans" here will spend their entire time rooting for our guys to suck so they can claim they're top tier scouts whilst being bottom tier fans.
The Rockets won't be relevant for awhile in the eyes of the city. TC will continue to be as empty as it has been this year and the lack of interest basically becomes with norm. The interest from casuals, when this team was relevant could already be questioned to begin with. What do you think happens when they're the worst team in the league and just continue to be for a long time, which is exactly what will happen
I think everyone will remain calm and allow the rooks to grow . Fans will rationally evaluate in more than a 14 game season.
